Indeed, I wonder what Ramal is going to do, this episode he clearly showed he had feelings for Isara.

1) he listened to hear singing, and made fun of her at first, but you could tell that he liked it.
2) When he sees Isara making that doll, he seems kind of Jealous as she's going to obviously give it to someone else. Lol, when he was like, your going to give it to your brother right?, Nope, THEN...Who....*blushes*
3) Gives her a necklace for a present, it seems that the whole giving gifts to people for the all spirits feast implies that you only give 1 person a gift. I always thought it was anyone, but it seemed everyone chose just 1 person to give a gift to...and Ramal just had to chose Isara

And the best part of the whole episode...listening to Isara sing that sweet sweet Darcsen song <3, the quality of the one I watched wasn't good enough for me to be able to understand or translate, but it was very sweet...soothing....ok now I'm sad again

This could mean a major anime-only retcon based on the preview.

In the game they discuss about the evolution of the Feast of the Spirits. Originally gifts were given to anybody important in one's life but in 1935 EC, it tends to be an event where you only give something to the one you love.

But in the game Isara used it as a means of growing closer to both Largo and Rosie.

Anyway, I already asked a number of times on what Ramal's purpose would be if Isara died since he was just starting to get more involved with her, but still not quite so deep of a relationship yet at this stage. Besides, when you kill a character in anime, there has to be a scene following afterwards and that basic rule wasn't applied here so far. There might be some hope left.

If Isara is just put on the wounded list, that would be great news. However, we can't say characters voiced by Houko Kuwashima were lucky in recent years.

Lol, this anime does not always follow logic you know. You can pretty much expect any nonsense from such failure script writers.

For dramatic purposes, it needs to follow basic rules from scripwriting 101. If not, these scripwriters deserve to be fired.

A new subber put out his version of Episode 17, so I decided to have a look at it. It's not like gleam's, and it gets Edy's name spelled wrong, but it does the job.

Spoiler for Episode 17, subbed:

• Wow, talk about a grudge. General Damon's sending the militia on a suicide mission just to get Welkin killed? Sheesh, you'd think he'd try something more direct (i.e. assassins).
• Looks like Squad Seven has made it clear that no one in the militia likes General Damon. If that's the case, it makes me wonder why they feel obligated to follow his orders... Probably just some "chain of command" crap...
• Too bad Marina only gets one line, and its asking Alicia about whether she's in an "emotional dispute" with Welkin. Seriously, if they gave her more lines or a generally more important role in the cast, the show would be so much more awesome.
• Alicia's been burning a lot of her bread lately? Pretty obvious as to why, but that's only obvious to us.
• Edy tells Homer to "just take it, alright?" when she hands him her gift. It's official: Edy/Homer = OTP.
• Looks like Rosie's opinion of Isara has deeply changed, and not just because of what happened at the end of the episode.

Okashii's subs don't really compare to Gleam's or Doremi's, but they're effective enough. He needs to check his references, though, as he got Edy's name wrong and Varrot's rank incorrectly.

But I digress. Whatever the rest of you say, I still thought this was a great episode.

I agree with you: the episode was good although there was room for better.

I think Damon deserves that push before Rosie goes further with the old Steven Seagal's "come on, that's not striking an officer" approach and other Squad 7 people to beat some MPs in the mix.

Well all subbers will translate an anime in their own way. Since Japanese-English isn't literal translations, he translated some things differently then I translated them into my head without subs.

But both cases were the same meaning. And yeah, there was some spelling mistakes, like Edys name. But it got the point across like you said. I also got to check my own translations in my head, same idea, just we did them differently alittle bit.

The next preview looked alittle weird to me, with some of the members laughing, smiling after such an event as Isara's death...maybe all that happens at the very start before they find out what happened...otherwise it doesn't seem right...

Guess the show didn't really deliver if you forgot that this is a war and that people die.

I know where you're coming. However, none can help but feel there's something fishy in the preview because it sends mixed messages from the looks of it. Nobody can tell what's gonna happen especially when...

the scene Isara gets shot ends the episode. I mean (by experience with anime), nobody leaves a cliffhanger like that if somebody dies nor we'd see guys taking things lightly around the fire when a sad event is still fresh in memories. In the preview as well, Isara's shawl recieves flowers on it and we can't tell yet for sure why. That's what I meant by mixed messages.

Anyway, the writers seem to have failed Scriptwriting 101 and deserve a hard kick in the arse for the mess they left with the series

Now, who's going to drive the Edelweiss? At first since they didn't introduce any of the engineers, I was hoping for miracles. But it's not over unless it's right infront of us. They got to have some more scenes of Isara!!

I'm actually gonna give this episode a 9/10, because i quite like the build up to the scene at the end. Yes it was completely different to how it played out in the game, though it looked like they wanted to build up more on the shock element here, and it was done quite nicely. Plus we have scenes like blushing Edy (YES!) , and Jann X Largo. Plus Ramal was very adorable in this episode.

Was still very lol how Faldio was at the right place at the right time to help Alicia when she burnt her hands.

Am i they only one that spotted that Zaka is mysteriously missing from this mission?Wth happened to him?He is my favourite character from the game(and from the anime for the short time we got to see him) but they thought it is for the best not to include him?

I'm willing to bet Zaka will be the one doing the driving since he didnt appear in this episode and is the only capable driver that belongs in squad 7.That way though means no sharock though which sucks .Id love to see two tanks fighting alongside.

I doubt it will be Ramal.He doesnt have the experience to drive and maintain the tank nor he blongs in squad 7(and you dont choose your suad if im not mistaken so he cant change).

I didnt really like the ending.It was emotionless and left a lot of unanswered questions about the story since a)Kreis and Leon didnt appear on the anime,B)Isara's dream havent been mentioned,C) [mod edit: removed game spoiler]

And i doubt we will ever see a proper battle from the anime.This battle ended the same way as vasel bridge:Attack starts,some running and shooting and then "BAM" fight is fast forwarded and is over.

The badas characters only get cameos in this show, if at all.
