Right now, what's most interesting to me (almost more than the main characters' issues) is the whole deal behind Anna and her thought processes, and the deal with Nitori's sister and her boyfriend. I feel like there's so much to be revealed/explained there and I just wanna KNOW already. XD

I must confess I saw Mako-chan as Juliet - and his refusal to give up the part - coming. They'd been building to it for the better part of two episodes, so it made a lot of sense.

It seems inevitable that Chiba was going to be the people's choice - girls like her always are in series like this - but as much as I appreciate her as a dramatic construct I haven't warmed to her as a person. I've yet to see any act from her that wasn't completely selfish - including where Nitorin is concerned. I find her feelings towards him possessive and condescending more than anything else. As I said, dramatically she's phenomenal - a bundle of live electricity that's liable to explode at any moment.

For Yoshino, OTOH, I have nothing but affection and I think her relationship with Nitorin is really fantastic. Her reaction to Chiba's idiot friend blurting out Nitorin's secret was spot-on - well, that whole scene is spot on. I've mentioned it already but although the characters are very different, the relationship really reminds me of Haruka and Yuu from Noein. I love soul-mate relationships even if they don't end up being romantic - as confused as those two are, the one thing they're sure of is that there's always going to be someone who understands them and has their back. For me, that's a really beautiful thing to see play out on screen.

Lol. Chiba's friend going 180 was so freaking hilarious. Now i understand why they're friends. XD

Mako and Chiba! What a twist!

I can't say Chiba has actually grown on me. I still find her a little annoying but Mako's scene with Nitori made me realise I find them a little annoying too...

As far as shipping goes, at this point I don't really mind what happens as long as everyone ends up okay and happy. I could even approve of Nitori and his sister's friend.

The ending essentially confirms Chiba's true feelings for Nitori. It's not neccessarily Nitori that she loves but instead a concept or attribute that she associates with Nitori that anyone could have, including Mako.

Quite a bit of material regarding Maho (Nitorin's sister) and her boyfriend Seya happens in the first 33 chapters that were skipped for this adaptation.

Several times are we shown Makoto personally empathizing with Saorin by himself, not to mention them being the leads in the play. I Wanna Be Your Romeo

Mako is pretty much considered as Nitorin’s best friend. Best male friend anyway. It’s a close kinship of sorts considering that both of them share not only a hobby of cross dressing but something that way as well be considered a way of life for both of them. He is ultimately the most supportive of the group aside from Yoshino, but then again it’s also due to how none of the others really know what he does. From a male perspective, only Mako really understands what he’s going through because he’s also going through the exact same thing. From a sense of kinship it became a close friendship, and it’s very much a joy to watch these two deal with their problems.

Sarashina is batshit insane, the loud and spontaneous member of the group, and we love her for it. You could argue that the entire group of friends would be sort of quiet and dull without her, I’d say this isn’t the case, but they’d definitely be less lively without her. She makes a nice counter-balance to Saorin’s persistent moody and depressive demeanor. Unlike Nitorin and Mako, she cross dresses for kicks and giggles, and not because it’s a part of her identity. I find her to be very much like Sasa, with her always smiling and always happy approach to life. Much like Sasa, she is one of the things that keeps this group of friends together.

I could relate to Chiba very strongly in this episode--these people came to her house and didn't include her, all she said was 'that's nice' about the cake and was screamed at that it isn't for her. She and Nitori were trying to write something interesting, than this crowd came with their boring, conventional, cliche ideas which just triggered her depression and alienation. Chiba shouldn't be forced into any association with those girls; she is on a different level. Mako and Anna continue to be interesting, but I didn't feel much for Takatsuki in this episode.

Shimura Takako sure has a thing for her characters appearing in plays within her stories, with a gender bent twist.

She also has a thing for slightly geeky male teachers who become objects of affection to all around them - besides from Makoto and Number One Fangirl, Sashoi-sensei seems rather popular with his female colleagues too... Shimura-sensei, is there something you're trying to tell us?

Okay anime only viewers, who expected Yuki to be a trap? <3

You actually find out that Yuki is male during her introduction, so it was pretty fun how the adaptation left it as a surprise, especially with that opening scene of this weeks episode.

Anyway, pretty fun episode. I loved the haunted house scene in the manga, so it was extra fun here with voice acting. Of course, Chi's confession was by far the best part of the episode.

Another excellent episode, leaving me with that tight emotional feeling in my chest. They never overdo things. Such as the reactions to Maiko-chan.

The kids running through the haunted house screaming, where you saw the curtains from above but not the kids, may have been the scene that moved me most. Somehow, a lot of emotion -- fear, joy, nostalgia -- washed over me during that moment.

And I loved the way Maiko-chan was nudging Anna-chan as they walked away from the school. Beautifully animated.

But I can sympathize with anime-only viewers who may still not quite realize that Yuki-chan is a man who lives as a woman. The subtlety and restraint of the show are its strength and its weakness.

Wow so i never thought that Yuki would be a guy, totally surprised by that revelation.

Favorite part was the haunted house where everyone was running and screaming. Enjoyed how the people who were supposed to do the scarring were scared.

So that rude guy appeared again, does he have a name? Enjoyed how Chiba was annoyed with him and gave Mako his flowers.

Chi's confession was great as well.

So the play turned out well and people even complemented Mako. Laughed when he said he was starting over. The best was that even his mother was teasing him.

The part that surprised me was that Maho complemented Nitori on his courage to write the play and character that resembles him. I don't want to see she approves of him, but maybe she's warming up to him.

This sums up the episode perfectly. I was delighted the "Rude Guy" got treated like crap by her in this episode. He deserved it. Very happy that she gave the flowers to Mako-chan too. Of course, she couldn't bring herself to tell him those flowers were from her and came up with a pitiful excuse (someone whose name I don't know told me to give this to you) to give that bouquet to him. My, my, she should be more honest with her feelings. The good ones, I mean. She obvious has no problems expressing the bad ones.

I was already spoiled about Yuki being a trap, yet I still wondered who the hell the guy in the pre-opening scene was. I didn't recognize him until I saw him with his boyfriend

You know, I myself feel more sorry for than angry at Chiba's "rude" childhood friend. He just can't get things right. The idea of giving her a bouquet was sweet, but he gives it at the wrong time and hasn't yet realized that she has been rejecting him constantly every time she sees him. He just goes blithely on, with his emotional intelligence quotient of zero clouded only by vague doubts. We all have our blind spots, don't we?
