And a second vote for Code Geass, but this one is an ongoing series.

Soukyuu no Fafner, which like Rahxephon, is sort of an Evangelion-lite without the sketchy confusing symbolism and annoying characters.

Interesting looking anime. But I watched Eureka and Fanfer, both excellent anime.
I guess I will try them all, thank you guys for suggestions.
