The Christmas Loot Thread

Post your hauls here!

---

I was told by my worse half to buy my own present, because she cannot remember all of the tools I asked for.

F YEAH CHRISTMAS!

Tools... so many tools!

Hakko FX-888 40W adjustable-temp soldering station
Maxtech 32-bit (not the digital type!) micro screwdriver set
Olympia Tools smartphone repair kit
Sinometer 1000W/20A replacement test leads
Micro USB Jig for Samsung Galaxy smartphones (easy download mode woo!)

Going to buy a boatload of guitar picks of various thicknesses (for opening cases and removing LCDs, separating glued bits and pieces) and some tweezers as well.

I'm too lazy to bother with a heat gun... a hairdryer works fine for melting glue on broke phones, and it can't get hot enough to damage anything... a lighter works for activating heat-shrink tubing.

Waiting to hear back on a Craigslist ad for a brand-new (back-stocked or somesuch thing, since they're discontinued now) LG DM-441B bench-style true-RMS multimeter.

I will be able to do so much SCIENCE with all of this!

Also, non-tool things that were obtained:

JVC HA-S400B collapsible headphones (more comfy than extended wear of earphones, for use while studying)

A crapload of games on Steam o_o

---

As for what my present to my partner, well, she's still trying to decide what she wants. It's probably going to be either a phone that doesn't have a huge piece of dust under the screen or a metric buttload of music.

450 pounds in cash

That's it really. I find it easier for myself and my mother if I buy all the items since it will be things such as manga, anime etc which my mother isn't familiar about I can say though it was upsetting having no presents to open however XD

I also got a 20 pound voucher for Waterstones and an electric beard trimmer

So for christmas I got pretty much what I expected, some video games, some expensive sports wear, but then unexpectedly I got a golf mat so now I can be like a rich business man and putt inside an office.

Now I just need to get an office.

The full list...

Yakuza 4 (ps3)
Far Cry 3 (ps3)
Milwaukee Brewers Braun Sports jersey
$300 cash
a 250 dollar gift card for rounds of golf

All in all a very good Christmas. Tight times, but everyone found some money to gift to each other which is always great. A nice thing about time passing is being able to make others smile thanks to your gifts.

The haul:
Guild Wars 2 (PC)
Assassin's Creed III: Liberation (Vita)
'The Summer Tree' by: Guy Gavriel Kay
PSN Gift Card
Razer Lycosa Keyboard

Let's see.. The one thing about being a grown-up is you get less toys..

Myself
-Angry Birds T-Shirt
-Club Monaco Sweater
-James Bond Movies in DVD (Goldeneye, Goldfinger, Octopussy, Casino Royale, The World is Not Enough)
-P90X with dumbbells and pull-up bar

I'd add that my fiancé had quite the haul this Christmas.. Which broke the bank on my part..

Not having to spend Christmas with parents + grandparents. Best gift ever =P

Don't feel like spending money just because it's Christmas so I didn't buy myself anything either.

Edit: I just got charged for this, so I guess this counts:

From others to me:
$100 bucks
Extreme 240gb SSD for my new laptop

From myself to me:
15" Lenovo Ideapad Y580

Didn't get as much as I usually do every Christmas but I did get what I want (that's all that matters) and + I usually just buy whatever I need/want.

Actual presents? One ¥1,000,000 check.

Expected presents? Probably my beloved when I get home.

I got new RAM for my computer and a 1TB external hard drive, so far.

And then the power went out for several hours, ensuring I could make use of neither.
