I am getting Black Lagoon vibe from this show and it's a good thing

I was quite sure that Chan was saying Hong Kong, why is the sub saying Taiwan?

Good question. Has anyone counted?

PS on the subs - I also noted that Taishinhai's a Hong Kong-registered company, not Taiwan. Which does not make sense since it's a PLA-backed company and they won't dare have it publicly known to be registered in Taipei.

Koko to me gives off a Batman villain vibe.

She'll probably become a character Marvel and DC villains will be based on.

She is a super villain. Her father is a super villain. Her brother is a super villain. What kind of chick that looks she's in her late teens or early twenties commands the loyalty of a super assassins and former top level commandos? Her father's name seems to cause bad dudes to shake in their boots. The dude had his kids born in international waters... he had his pregnant wife give birth on a ship smuggling weapons.

Her father must be a very evil SOB. Only super villains have hot albino-ish daughters they can send into places like Afghanistan to deal weapons to the most dangerous of people.

How about Jonah? If Batman found him, he'd become the next Robin. "Hey Jonah, you remind me of my son... Damian. I know you hate guns, so I'll teach you how avenge using your bare fists." Jonah is just begging to become Robin.

Most super assassins are made, Jonah was born a natural born killer. The dude survived being a child soldier. He seems to be around 14 and his skills rival those of a grizzled former Delta Force soldier.

I would definitely not agree to that. Jonah is just above the average "undisciplined" soldier.

Yeah, he's raw but his talent is definitely above those he works with. This is the only reason why Team Koko keeps him around and why a guy like Lehm gives him advice. The others in Koko's team are just better trained, older, and past puberty. The kid is a pistol marksman and shot a dude in between the eyes using the iron sights of an AK-47 while peaking out a moving sedans moonroof during a car chase. And he's a quick draw.

Yes, but again skills and talents are different. Jonah might have the talents, but his skill still needs to be sharpened.

Characters in this manga/anime series seem like they'd be at home in an American comic. Lehm a white haired badass commando like David Cain, Cable, and Deathstroke.

Jonah has a similar origin to Damian Wayne or Cassandra Cain.

Koko is like 19-23 and she commands seriously dangerous troops. Koko's dad is supposed to be super evil and feared.

"Koko has decided to sell weapons to Gotham's worst. Her father has ties to the League of Shadows. She mostly stuck to selling weapons in the developing world but now she seems like she's doing business in American cities. She surrounds herself with the deadliest super assassins and mercenaries in the world. One is rumored to be Deathstroke. Don't let her teenage looks fool you, she's crazy."

If I'm not mistaken the official bio says he's 11 when the series starts, though I'd have to check. He's also about a foot shorter than Koko, which probably makes him about 4'6", which is about average for an 11 year-old. He's obviously more muscled than your typical kid that age but considering his lifestyle, that's hardly surprising.

Actually manga wise Jonah was roughly equal to Valmet in combat ability (weaker in some stronger than others) and there were areas he was far superior to her in as shown in distinct scenarios, no idea if this adaptation will go that route,
