In the last month I finally got a good enough internet connection to where I can actually use this site, and I wanted to get some suggestions since I don't know a whole lot yet about what's out in japan. I will list some of my favorites and maybe someone can make a few suggestions for me, I would reall appreciate it.

These are my favorite series:

Crest/Banner of the Stars ( I am already dling Seikai no Senki)
Berserk
Noir
FLCL
Full Metal Panic
Evangelion
Betterman
Lupin III
Record of Lodoss War

Basically, I prefer more serious toned anime, but I like comedy too, but I am definitly not into the high school drama shojo stuff, just not my thing.

Thanks to anyone that helps me, and i look forward to being here for a long while.

Currently I'm watching Sousei no Aquarion. Its really gd! You might want to consider that too. I'm super hook to the OP (Sousei no Aquarion)

Yeah, full Metal Alchemist is one of my fav's, Beserk is good u'll enjoy it, ummmm

escaflowne is kinda old and cliche but its good.
Scr-yed if u really want to, not good enough to search for but if u can get if free then watch it, not worth paying for.

Fire Rose82 named good ones so i cant list any more...

I third with Fullmetal alchemist, but its licensed so you won't find it here at animesuki.

Wing of Rean - only the first episode has sub. its an ONA ( original net animation). It got lots of action.
cluster edge - story about artificial soldiers. its a very dramatic anime especially near the end of the series. Note: its definitely not a shounen-ai. no romance in this anime.
Zegapain - its a new anime and currently ongoing. its mecha, action and romance.

black cat, shakugan no shana, solty rei - all are licensed but nice action adventure genre.

You like seroius anime and Noir? Well, how about you try Madlax and Gunslinger Girl?

I second Madlax

others:

gungrave(similar to Berserk, but more dramatic, modern, and imo better)
Elfen Lied(lots of blood, it's serious, and has a nice romantic tone to it)
Gankuksuo( gayness is somewhat implied in this show, but the hetrasexual relatinships are more clearer than the homo. don't get me wrong, this show is excellent, and serious. The girl boy romance itself is awsome, and nice.)

If you liked evangelion then certainly check out Sousei no Aquarion

Also you may want to check out Hellsing, gungrave and perhaps Gunslinger Girl(Haven't seen much of it yet, but after I watch Aquarion, that will be next

yeah gun grave is pretty cool, trigun is excellent, bebop for sure, and full metal alchemist is good too i would highly rcomend all of them.
