For those who didn't like the OP and comparing it with Mami Kawada's OPs, apparently the lyrics are still done by Mami Kawada and the same composer who did the previous OPs, even though it's performed by Kurosaki Maon. Just wanna say that the result probably would've been the same even if Mami Kawada's name is the one slapped to the OP instead of Kurosaki Maon |

Confirmed for 26 episodes.
Kinda get the feeling this will be the case. 3-cours rumour was too good to be true considering everything going on at J.C. Staff and I'm also kinda conflicted about it anyway. Hoping for the best now. Source: https://twitter.com/pKjd/status/1043795048406470656 |

Most likely will be the same pace as the previous seasons. Sure, they're indicating that they'll be adapting this to the end of OT at least, but nothing is confirmed that they'll be doing just that in this one season. Miki already stated that Index III is not the only one from the new Toaru project (we can argue that the other might just be Railgun S3) but let's just wait and see first.
Plus, the production will likely crash (or badly affected at least) if it ends up being 3-cours cause J.C. Staff is also doing OPM S2 in Spring 2019 which is a heavy show on its own. Still hoping for the best here. Last edited by EasyGo-er; 2018-09-23 at 08:29. |

Totally unimpressed if they will keep it within 26 episodes. This part of the light novels is one of the chunkiest parts of the Old Testament. You simply cannot condense this without sacrificing tons of narrative.
Now if they isolate World War III into a three-part movie, then things might improve, but if WWIII stays within Index III, then prepare for a shitfest.

Because of the rumours I had some hope S3 would be a bit better than S1 but now it will be a miracle if they can pack so much into 26eps without it making even crappier than S2. |

I expect nothing from Dengeki yet again crashing SAO with Index and I'm still let down.
I must not be the only one thinking they suck at managing their brands. Better start praying it's a two part series that when episode 26 ends you have another cour to adapt WWIII otherwise it will be a shitshow worth of going to the hall of infamy .

Going to bring some truths here.
Index III is adaptable in 26 episodes. Now you may be thinking "what in the absolute heck are you talking about!? That's 9 novels of content, thats not possible!", but from the absolute ginormous time we spent reading the novels, there is one thing we forget. The later half of OT is much more action oriented then the first half. Action when translated from novel to anime is faster then anticipated. I've been reading OT and boy, exposition there is pretty small. The biggest one I remember is the Curtana exposition. So anything less then a 3-cour and in between a 2-cour is fine. Now is 26 episodes an optimal amount of episodes? Fuck no. There is going to be content cut and I hate it, I absolutely hate it. It should be 28-29 episodes or we get 1 hour long episodes with 25 and 26. That is the only way that justice would be delivered.

Dengeki mismanaging their brands? SAO is one of, if not the, top-selling LN/anime title, and that’s not even limited to Japan. The theater was packed full when they showed the Ordinal Scale movie in my area, and I doubt it was much less full anywhere else. Of all things Dengeki is guilty of, mismanaging their anime isn’t one of them. In the end, it’s all about the money. Tragedy sells, sex sells, and SAO sells. (leave out the puns )
