Episode 4
Damn! Ponytails are the best! Hotaru looks sekushi cute with that ponytail! Thanks to first Shirayuki and now Hotaru, I think I've found a fondness for ponytails. The first half was good. Putting big cylindrical shaped objects in their mouths while blindfolded with hands tied behind.... Had some suggestive moments for sure. Lol when You-san entered and thought that there was some S & M play going on. The second half, for some reason, felt a bit down. I'm not sure why. Its had a rather stupid idea of using candies like energy boosts, I'm not sure if candies can work that way lol. It didn't quite feel upto the mark, the latter half. Not funny enough. But oh well, ponytail Hotaru sure made up for it. |

Well, we don't know how tall she is. She does wear heels, though not high-heels, so she seems a bit taller than she actually is. With those heels, she's about the same height at Coconuts (actually a tad shorter), and we can tell she is quite slender, despite her high caloric intake. Without the heels, she's about as tall as Saya, and frankly they've got surprising similar builds outside of Hotaru's additional curves. I doubt anyone would bat an eye at the suggestion that Saya isn't much more than 100 lb (45.5 kg), if she's even that heavy, so 55 kg (121 lb) for Hotaru is believable, even with those bodacious sweater puppies.

wow....
really... a girl in your shop alone with you blindfolded and told you to tie her up and feed her stuff... this have naughty play written all over it... it's a miracle he didn't do what we all would have done. Instead he stick a huge stick into her mouth forcefully... Also... da candy run... wonder if they have actual energy candies? (cause I think I saw a English one in some store here before) PS: how I wish we could have cheap snacks in US too... candies here cost so much... most of them is 1 USD and above, there's no more 25 cent candies at all like in the past (them Gums, lol). Both halves of this episode were pretty crazy. The best part had to be the dad coming in in the middle of their "play" and misunderstanding (then again, who wouldn't have misunderstood?).
They went really technical with the second half. I didn't expect Kokonotsu's house to be this far from Saya's cafe. How does the candy store even get business if it's stuck in the middle of nowhere? (25 minutes to the closest transportation).

I wonder if you eat two Gilcos, can you run 320 metres in 1 minute or do you just run longer without needing extra boost? <.< Ponytail Hotaru was lovely. Tied and stick it in my mouth demanding Hotaru was dayum! <3

Ok, I think we can guarantee there will be some doujins coming out in the not too distant future where Hotaru gets something else stuck in her mouth in the "bondage" segment. The girl is designed to be doujin fodder, pretty much.
I think some of that may be the placebo effect. For example, I find sucking on hard candy can help me stay awake some afternoons at work when I'm having a tough time otherwise, but as soon as the candy is gone I start having trouble again. The instant I put a new candy in my mouth I feel energized again. Not quite the same level of physical exertion, but it makes me wonder if perhaps the principle is similar.

It was Tou that started the comparisons though. I guess Coconuts mistake was keeping the drawing in his book. Come to think of it, do they not have phones? If so he could have called ahead and asked Tou to hold onto the book and keep Saya from seeing it.

Oh man, Baby Star Ramen. I ate and still eat so much of it as well, so this episode really hit home.
I also liked how they changed the Beware of Sour Grapes to reflect the current packaging. Too bad that meant that Hotaru lost her winning chance completely. XDDDD EDIT: Seems like it's on break next week.

In this episode of Dagashi Kashi...
You-san shameful addiction to certain powder. Kokonotsu becomes a YouTube star. He might deny all he wants, but that boy sure loves dagashi. Also, obligatory Saya cameo. Hotaru is terrible at gambling. Not that she needs more candy. She must have superhuman metabolism to burn through them as it is. |
