Readers got bored of justice ikemen hero. We got too many of those since the day fiction was born. Reading about how a scum live in a zombie world is a nice change of perspective. At least, he's not Tom Cruise (WWZ)

the chapters seem really short even for a webnovel.

Just briefly looked at the first two, its like only 2-3 paragraphs each.
More like a blognovel

It's only short in the beginning, they get a lot longer later on especially in the third arc

he got something called like a passive vaccine like virus so he didnt get attacked because the zombie is somewhat treating him like their kin. still someone said there's a thinker zombie appeared later. the fact that he become an asshole because he himself isn't in endangered situation is kind of realistic i think.

anyway for someone who read longer than me is there any explanation for why the world become like this and how far the infection spread ? i just read till the sos chapter...
