Question...
Is there an "Original Soundtrack" of Suzumiya Haruhi? cdjapan is only giving me drama albums, character albums, ... No OST at all. I was just interested in some BGMs and wanted to get the OST.

^ currently there is no OST that's sold separately. The only way to get the BGMs from the anime is if you bought the LE of the R2 versions.

I'm sure, however, Bandai will somehow release the OST CDs in the USA... probably.

Into a different direction...;

I'm not sure if this goes here, but,
I tried playing Parallel Days on the piano. It sounds a bit odd, and messy I suppose...

It's... one of the songs from the character albums. Yeah. =/.

Took me a while to find, but here's a rough romaji version of Kentai Life Returns!

Sorry, is the lyrics for Asakura-san's Koyubi de Gyutsu! available somewhere (romaji and English)? I'm dying all over the net for that and finally took the time to post here. ;p

That should say it all!

The scripts being referred to are Strato's translation of the drama cd.

Patton!?!

I was just listening to the snare drum march that plays behind Haruhi's batting practice (Ep. 4, where Yuki is "fielding" minimally and Mikuru is cowering). And in my mind, I started filling in the melody from Patton. So I looked up a quick Patton MIDI, and it's *really* close - likely an intentional reference.

Go to this site and listen to the MIDI at the first link - only pay attention to the drum line. Then listen to teh second link, at the woodwind melody in the middle. Imagine that melody joining the drums and you have the baseball scene's drums. If you're not familiar with Patton, listen to the speech in the third link to see why it's an appropriate reference

What do you think?

For anyone in the Seattle area, the Seattle Symphony will be performing Mahler's 8th, the music from the grand finale to Season 1 (in broadcast order), on September 25th and 27th. It's a big thing to put on, and isn't performed all that often.

Seishiro,
You can go to animelyrics(dot)com or just search, ex: Bouken Desho Desho lyrics Haruhi Suzumiya, on google.

Koi No Mikuru Densetsu is a really good song>>>

Mi, mi, miracle! Mikurun-run! Mi, mi, miracle! Mikurun-run!
You, who can't say "I love you" frankly,
Gather up your courage! (Hey, attack!)
The Mikuru Beam, my charm of love
I'll cast it on you

Come on! Let's dance!
Come on! Let's dance! Baby!
When I wipe away my tears and start running,
Come on! Let's dance!
Come on! Let's dance! Baby!
To the other side of the sky, Special Generation

Love Magical Mikurun-run!

Though,
I love the song Bouken Desho Desho, and God Knows.

My favorite Haruhi Song on vol.1 CD is SOS Nara Daijoubu, it's great!

While I am Seattle, I'm apparently not that cultured nor big enough fan for a symphony. Not enough mosh pit at a symphony >.< By all means don't let me stop you though, tell us how it went.

I remember hearing an instrumental version of Koi No Mikuru Densetsu at this anime con i went to last year (Animania Sydney Sept 2007) and I'm just wondering if anyone has any info on it? Apparently it's not on the official OST's, which has me thinking it may've been done by some random Doujin Artist instead. I've been trying to track it down for aaaaaaaggggeeessss and to no avail so far, thus this post right now...

There's an instrumental version as the "end credits" track on the soundtrack for Adventures Of Asahina Mikuru Episode 00. Not sure if that's what you mean.

No, unfortunately that one was slightly 'off'... =/

I'm talking about an exact instrumental version of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mV7zJol6Mc

You know what I'd like to see? A slower, instrumental remix of either Hare Hare or Parallel Days.

It's not official, but the MIDI I made is closer than any other instrumental I've come across. (It's the TV size one, not the full cut)

(mp3 of the midi with good synth)

(the midi itself)

That would be pretty awesome.

Or a bluegrass version.

I like bluegrass.
