I was a little disappointed, but not at all suprised they opted for something open ended. More closure would have been nice, but the way they seemed to cram alot into the last two episodes I wasn't expecting much. I did like the last couple minutes of the episode though, they keep you guessing right 'till the end. Phil's head getting squished was good too, ha!
Oh, and my guess is AJ will be the next head of the family.

I was expecting something to happend.
I was "Oh Sh*T", then the screen went black. I was like, "NOO!" the cable is out. Then O notice that it was a cliffhanger T.T I was expecting that the guy that went to the Bathroom, was going to shoot Tony in the bacl while he was watching his daugther comming in. But still it left for too many endings.

I think the fact that everything wasn't wrapped up neatly like a typical network Drama series was the perfect way for things to end. I don't see the ending as an abrupt ending to the series, but as an abrupt ejection of the viewer from the inside view of the Soprano Families life. The series is over, but their lives continue as if they were real. It's been quite a ride for the past 8 years and I don't think it would have done the show justice to have everything come to a complete and absolute end. This way the viewer doesn't have to suspend their disbelief and the series can remain one of the most realistic portrayals of family life in the history of Television. The series never once asked us to suspend our disbelief and that's what made it so great right to the end.

As soon as "dont stop believing" was turned on, and the entire family was sitting down together I was convenced tony was going to get "whacked" There was the guy in the bathroom, and that guy in the USA hat. I was glad that phil died though... I didn't like him. And Sil is still in a coma... |

Tony's nephew christopher is dead, tony killed him a few episodes back. Anyways they have been replaying the soprano's on A&E from the beginning. So eventually they will get around to replaying this season. |

But sometimes, on previous seasons, they rerun the season they just trasnmited.
I hope they do it. Dang, I want to see why Tony killed him. Probably was Tony on his Emo mode or something. Or Christopher was actually going to the FBI O.O. Why did I miss it T.T. The Cat moved from place, when they moved christopher pictures :P. LOL

It all goes to show you that although the characters on the soprano's can be easy to relate to at times (they have a crazy mother, their kids are lazy ect) tony soprano is still a cold hearted killer, and didn't hesitate to kill his nephew. |

an explanation of the last scene in the last episode?
well...IMHO...
I recall some time ago, there was the episode where (pardon my faulty memory) Tony S's neighbor and his buddies are all jazzed up that Tony was a member of the mob, and Tony felt their viewing him and his life as fodder for entertainment as de-humanizing; his neighbor was not portrayed sympathetically. To pay his neighbor back, Tony then takes a plain old box, fills it with sand, then tells his neighbor something to the effect, "I need you to hide this for me, but whatever you do, don't open it and don't tell anyone!" leaving his neighbor filled with excitement and fear, as he contemplated what must be inside. That's the ending: Perhaps the director is, like Tony Soprano, ultimately nausated by the public's fascination with all things mob-related and with Tony himself, someone who is a sociopath (2nd last episode). So, the director gives the viewers a black box, and lets the viewer's fear and fascination imagine what is inside it, all the while laughing at you, since it's nothing. Does this make sense? Then i looked up the Sopranos and saw the whole gangsta thing....DAWHH So obvious.... |

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Fans of "The Sopranos" are seizing on clues suggesting the controversial blackout which abruptly ended the TV mob drama meant that Tony Soprano was rubbed out, and HBO said Thursday they may be on to something.
One clue in particular, a flashback in the penultimate episode to a conversation between Tony and his brother-in-law about death, gained credence as an HBO spokesman called it a "legitimate" hint and confirmed that series creator David Chase had a definite ending in mind. "While he won't say to me 100 percent what it all means, he says some people who've guessed have come closer than others," HBO spokesman Quentin Schaffer told Reuters after speaking to Chase. "There are definitely things there that he intended for people to pick up on," Schaffer said. The biggest hint, according to a consensus taking shape on the Web, is a scene from an earlier episode in which Tony and his brother-in-law, Bobby Bacala, muse about what it feels like to die. "At the end, you probably don't hear anything, everything just goes black," Bobby says while they sit fishing in a small boat on a lake. "I think that is one of the most legitimate things to look at," Schaffer said when asked about theories that the Bobby Bacala flashback was meant to foreshadow Tony's death. http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/TV/0...eut/index.html I was close enough |
