It is winter Kureha and Kanata patroling Nomansland. Checking those old stations.

Injured Roman soldier found.

Tank-kun complete! Noel was a scientist in the past.

Noel is afraid. Visions of people dying.

Roman soldier is a comm officer by the bugle she has.

Kanata thinks of similarities instead of diffrences. Kureha it seems doesn't like Romans or the Roman military.

Roman soldiers and spider tanks on the prowl on Nomansland.

Brown girl speaks Germans. Tries to attack Noel but Noel grabs boob losing her composure.

Aisha tells her name, rank and serial number in front of the girls. Kureha can't translate German.

She says sorry in Japanese when the girls don't treat her badly.

Kanata and Noel try to feed Aisha wit gruel or rice. (Cooling her food)

Kanata and Noel can't translate German either.

Yumina ans store lady and local talking.

Kanata wants Aisha to play Rio's trumpet. Aisha knows Amazing Grace too!

Aisha sneezes. Noel gives her scarf. Noel sneezes too. Store lady Naomi and Yumina comes.

Naomi gives the 411 on what could happen to Seize.

Yumina can speak German! Talks to Aisha.

Aisha spills the beans. Apocalypse? The Demon?! YUmina is worried.

Noel is afraid of army guy in her past who comes with the Helvetia Army in Seize.

Army Colonel guy speaks to Filicia.

Aisha is hidden in school along with Naomi, Yumina and Noel.

Aisha recognizes Noel's name.

Noel panics. Aisha tries to go after her.

Phone rings. Kanata gets a message the Roman Army is right at their doorstep on Nomansland.

Shots are fired. Bastard Colonel smirks.

Yeah it all went insane, though i must say i'm glad we're getting backstory on Noel, even if it is what the hell i can't believe this material. Seriously, this is crazy.

Noel's breast attack, and Filicia's way of finding out if the Roman solider can understand them was very nice.

Seriously can't wait for next weeks episode. I'm gonna say that Noel jumped in the way of the shot.

As for the translation, CR did a grand job with the German.

Can we not start putting death wishes out on the cast? If anything, the flashbacks showed that the war was a pointless, brutal thing. Spider tank or no, asking for more war kind of undermines the point of the show.

My high school German is a bit rusty, but it seemed like Aisha's voice actress spoke quite fluently. Yumina was more difficult to follow without checking the subtitles.

Favorite translation related joke:
Aisha: "To escape, I need stamina, so I'll eat your food."
Kanata: "I'm sure she's saying it's good!"

Bringing back the demon skeleton to the story: Yay!

Where's Rio at the moment? In the Capital, still on her way there (well, maybe not, it's probably been some time since the last episode), or will she turn up at the fortress at the most dramatic moment?

Aisha mentioned that her grandmother was captured at the eastern front. Presumably, that mean eastern for a Roman, so is the Roman Empire located on the other side of No Man's Land? If so, shouldn't there be a lot more Helvetian soldiers stationed in this part of the country?

I'm beginning to think that there is some kind of contest among the writers: "Who can make the ending credits appear the most inappropriate?"

I'm hoping that the Spider Tank activates itself to protect Noel.

Incredible episode. After seeing the townspeople as so kind and peaceful, it's that much more uncomfortable that something might happen to them. I don't think there's going to be total death and destruction, but things should get scary; they've already efficiently indicated that a not-so-lucky Roman scout got killed by his interrogators.

Seems as if the aliens/bioweapon theory got a bit more likely; the actions of the opposing armies should probably set it off again, cue for the girls to deal with it somehow.

Boob grab was an amazing way of neutralising that situation.

Episode 10 was really moving or me as well, though it was annoying that the old lady said she didn't have a choice but to act in the rather cliched way that she did; classic Sartean bad faith. Thankfully Rio chose her own fate, and if she can play Amazing Grace with feeling, must feel very happy about it. Hopefully she'll be able to order the Colonel around when she gets back.

As for the episode... Well, I guess it was good. The change in atmosphere is as brilliant (sarcasm) as always, so kind of felt awkward that everything suddenly went to "enemies evading" and "evil general guy comes to visit" and all...
Heck, did they mention Rome soldiers were enemies before? Because I completely forgot if they did...

Woaah decent German! That was really great! It's been a while since I could understand 'anime' german with ease. The grammar was also correct most of the times (two minor mistakes that I noticed but most people make them anyway). Yuna's german was really fitting for some reason, because she isn't supposed to speak it I guess.
"Der unsichtbare Teufel" Hm~ sounds nice. But this ED is really unfitting

I'd say that this was a good episode on its own, but then again this show is built on having good episodes on their own. I guess I'll have to see how exactly it will all end to build my judgment on this show (unless there is a season 2)

The narrative has been just fine with only the broadcast episodes. A little patience for the other two can't hurt.

Well there have been plenty of other series for which I've wondered "How will they wrap this up in one episode?" And surprisingly the ones for which I'm the most uncertain going into the last episode often deliver the best. Let's hope the trend continues.

I was ready for it this time but I still couldn't help thinking (again) how out of place the ED is. Fingers crossed, maybe it won't be as out of place next episode and we get a happy end?

But yeah, as Hypernova said, shit hitting fan. Now we know why Noel's so good with the machines. Every army needs a child genius or two, I suppose.

And speaking of armies, they're on the move, it's crazy! Hopefully Rio can work something out in time. Also there's the rather pointed fact that Takemikadzuchi looks a helluva lot more advanced than any of the other tanks we saw this episode, a lot more like those ridiculous spider tanks from episode 7, so probably older technology. Throw in a scientific prodigy... Looks like they've also switched to using a CG model instead of painting it, so I guess we all know what that probably means.

And Noel... I'm thinking biological warfare here, judging by the flasks and Aisha's mention of the "invisible death" or whatever it was. And the skeleton from the first episode wasn't completely random! I guess some of the theories about the fire maiden legend are about to be confirmed.

Well it all rests on what happens next week. A lot of new information was introduced this time but I'm enjoying the way they've worked in elements of the story from previous episodes.

I'm no judge of German but I looked up the VA (Miyahara Nami); Wikipedia doesn't have much but it says she went to an international school in Austria starting junior high, so she's probably fluent?
