Episode 41 was pretty cool. I had hoped those 3 would join fairy tail, oh well, maybe sometime in the future. Juvia's new look isn't too bad. I had to laugh at Gajeel's song, he looked mighty sharp in that suit though. This was a rather cool transitional episode setting up the next story arc.

that last episode was oddly rushed... they cut out quite a bit of manga material, and when it comes to these kinds of series, cutting out material is generally the LAST thing you want since you typically need to stretch a lot to avoid catching up to the manga...

Some of the unimportant non-spoilerish stuff they cut out (some of which will be greatly missed...
Spoiler:

As for the more important actually spoilerish bits... i don't really consider them to have been "cut out" just yet... there is the possibility that they may have just rearranged the timing of those events. Sometimes things might flow a bit better...

for instance, in one of those scenes, they make reference to a character who will come up later... however that character won't come in until AFTER the next arc; and that's kinda of a long way to wait. As such, the anime team might have thought it better to save that scene till after this coming arc.

The change of the names in episode 42 is quite annoying, but its because of the translation.

Bickslow = Bixlow.
Freed = Fried.
Mistogan = Mistgun.
Tribe = bodyguards.

Change from what? The scanlations?
The spellings are, as always, the same as those in the official Del Rey Manga.

Im guessing anime translations are based on how the words sound and manga translations are based on the letters.

If that is the case, then the names used in manga are closer to the real names than the names of the anime.

Actually the translations we get in the Del Ray release are from Hiro Mashima himself, so they are official.

The spellings we get in the Crunchyroll subs that Quarkboy does are from the Del Ray release of the manga, which we both just explained to you.

So, Freed and Bickslow are going to be the Del Rey translations? Because last I checked, the released volumes had not gotten up to this arc.

True, but the translations have been completed at least and I have the official glossary from Del Rey through volume... 13.

Once the show gets past volume 13-14, then I'll probably choose name spellings myself, and submit them to kadokawa for approval.
Then Del Rey will use those in future volumes.

No, that's how it was in the manga, too (ch 107). Bixlow laughed at the 4 vs 100 odds, and Luxus didn't mention the barrier traps.

Spoiler:
In the manga it happened offscreen (ch 108). Arzack was limping more afterward though.

Gray+clothes= DOES NOT COMPUTE! He's probably the easiest character to draw, because he's usually wearing nothing
Spoiler for 42:
