I have the weirdest Sweeney Todd right now.

That was a nice first episode. There were a few holes in it (like the exposition on the name reveal and why the MC hadn't used his own scissors in the first place) but I like the atmosphere of the show. Strangely it reminds me a lot of Tasogare Otome x Amnesia.

I've been thinking about this. I did find it odd, but it didn't bother me, for some reason. I've watched the scene again, and now I wonder whether there's something in the politeness-expectations that we're missing. Like if he'd be using his own scissors, he'd insulted the host's scissors. Something unreflected like that that makes sense if you're familiar with Japanese culture. Note that he explained his reasoning before he used his own scissors later that night.

Note that I have no idea how plausible that is, but at a second viewing I'd felt something like: "if that were me, would I really bring up my own scissors after being presented with so many? Would that really be okay?" Maybe it's just me wanting to justify that scene because the emotional pay-off is brilliant.

I really liked that first episode. The hair-cutting scene, in particular, was very strong. The way the hair flew away, and she just sits there fingering the cut hair, and then the tears come... Very well done. (And I chuckled at how she personified his scissors, and he's jealous... of his own scissors.

)

Have to say the early part of that episode really did seem rather creepy at times. Someone call 911

. I suppose props to the guy for being one with his fetish? That was....yeah something.

But it did get a whole lot better as it went along. Seriousness picking up and really the haircutting scene was pretty nice. While long haired Iwai was plenty cute, Iwai being so happy about that moment was worth it. All that weight literally being cut away.

Though plenty of questions hanging overhead and somehow think things might get a bit serious here.

Alright... I was literally being freaked out by this episode. Although near the ending was pretty nice. I'll keep along with this for a little bit to truly decide where to go with this

The obsession with cutting hair is interesting in itself.

This is one of those shows that just sounds far too fetishy to grab my interest, but I'll likely take a peek later on in the season when I'm bored and looking for something to watch.

Strange first episode, but I like the little comedy involving Kiri’s unusual “fetish” in it. Still, it seems that this anime is developing into somewhat Highlander-esque kinda story with the wielders of Killing Goods fighting. I’m curious. Definitely will check out the next episode.

MM! had an extraordinary amount of S&M fetish in it. So this having an fetish with cutting hair makes me think of the comedy that will come from this anime

Okay, I've just finished watching the 1st episode and it was quite cool.
At some parts, it was really sweet, at some brutal and at some just totally psychological.
I have no idea in which direction it will go from now on, but from the preview I suspect it will be psychological.

And that is one of the few things wrong with this episode. This series is giving a lot of C3 vibe, and that's a pretty bad sign.

Hubby & I watched the first ep together this morning. His initial reaction as Kiri makes love to her hair: are you sure this isn't porn?

Hair fetish aside, the show wallowed in nicely done creepy atmosphere. I just hope that our cursed pair's curses don't turn against them against each. I think they're good for one another.

Didn't like it too much. Directing was all over the place and it was hard to take seriously. But the main girl is cute and the promise of a cool battle royale kinda development is interesting. 3-episode rule easily applies here.

What a weird perverted hair fetish love story

Now, I'm not oppose to Bizzare Couples, but the storyboard was pretty non-existence; were they in some kind of hurry? Hardly anything was explained clearly and scenes just jumped all over the place. Whatever the reason such horrendous editing in the first episode might have sunk it's reputation.
