If Toru was just a tenth no a hundredth as skilled as Naofumi then this series might be more interesting. Heck unlike Naofumi he can actually punch and deal damage.

It's not cliche if it's handled right, and they get a power up that was foreshadowed with lots of mystery, and not before having a huge amount of episodes dedicated to relieving the build up of a villain that was built up as being the supreme power so far.

A character who doesn't struggle is not a well written character. Hence why so many people like Batman better than Superman.

People like underdog, but only if the underdog is doing right. At the very least, that's not apply tp this one

The funny thing about Tor is he's not really an underdog. He's just a guy who happened to get a shield as a weapon and despite that is practically worthless. The fact he's a dynamo with the sword makes it 10 times worse.

Now if he was a swordsman he'd probably be a bit better. Although you'd have no Lilith which in my mind is fine not a lot of people agree.

So he's kind of a genius with a sword? So he's quite the unlucky fellow since he got a "weapon" based on what he desired in his soul and not from what he was good at.

Did they talk about what they can get in the next levels? Or the only thing he get is the force field on level 4 and nothing more? Like a reflect power or even his shield getting a sword-like form maybe?

The fun thing is that in others novels, knight-like characters always says that he's going to use his "sword" to "protect" the kingdom. Sad that the <Lucifer> didn't used this meaning for him
