I like the Demon's thoughts on improving magic. But unfortunate for him, his magic will die with him when Fern blows him apart.

"Himmel isn't around anymore, is he?"
Oh shit, demon loli baba went there! Sure, the funeral was like several years ago but that is like "yesterday" for Frieren. Imagine losing one of your best friends and then someone tells you the next day to get over it because he isn't around anymore. No wonder Frieren looked like that after Aura told her that.

She's right, tho

Btw, with demons have specific magic like this
The logical conclusion would be assassination, right?

Nobody ever thought to develop magic or tool to do super long distance assassination like sniping?

Demon loli-baba vs elf loli-baba

May the best loli-baba win!

I wonder how old Aura is. We know she became a top ranking demon 500 years ago... but it wouldn't surprise me if Frieren is like twice her age.

I'd presume that Aura didn't use her scales in the previous fight on Frieren, else things would be settled already... wanna bet she tries this time and gets a little surprise?

Man, the demons got OWNED! Looks like Lügner will be the first to die due his heart being pierced whole whereas Linie will die more slowly after losing her arm. Still those two made their masters very proud with those fights! Good job, guys!

So, she hit him cleanly with an axe and it didn't kill him or even wound him seriously? Her blows really are light.

More like his Muscles are like Mash's muscles, harder than steel. Don't forget a grown up dragon was scared of fighting him. xD

Yeah, I guess he doesn't know how sturdy his body is. I see that a lot these days, in these stories.

I love how easily Fern beat Lughner. Stark fought a bit harder but his win is great too.

She was strong enough to at least blow him off the castle and break a tree. I'm pretty sure Stark is just tough.

Not if said loli would've killed him instead, no?

@Anh_Minh: Yeah, when we first switched back to them in this chapter, Stark had been blasted onto a tree and was heavily wounded. He's just tough enough that he can still easily get back up from that.

Dude had a dragon shaking in its boots and cleaved into a mountain for practice. He can take an axe to the gut.

Demons complaining about the cowardice and deceitfulness of their enemies. I guess we've got to add hypocrisy to their sins.

Well, they never hid their magic power/levels/aura, all they hid where their true intentions, so there is a difference there.^^

I find it interesting how there seems to be a honor code among mages (both demon, elves and men) to always display their full potential with their magic aura. You would think "cowards" like Flamme, Frieren and Fern would be more common as it is smarter to hide your true power. But considering how Frieren said it is tiring to suppress her magic aura it seems to be easier to run around full auto so to say then keep control over your aura all the time.

That said, Flamme is so cool!!! And I like her "coward" philosophy and how she taught Frieren the same way and she then to Fern. With Frieren's power already looking this good when suppressed in front of Aura... then just how large must it really be when she fully releases it? Man, I can't wait for that to happen! <3

That depends what you consider "smarter", though. Hiding ones mana is "cowardly" because it fakes weaknes to catch enemy off-guard. Basicaly voluntarily making ownself target to catch and kill enemy. In other hands showing full power means weaklings would avoid you.

Generelay speaking later is smarter.
