There's an Idea. If Rinne has enough of her former life in her head, she may well be in the right place at the right time.
Isn't the point of the concept in reincarnation to learn/atone for errors in a previous life? "Atonement: 3.: reparation for an offense or injury : satisfaction" http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/atonement |

Oh for fuck's sake...nothing significant happened this chapter...
I welcome every Karin centered chapter but this has been dragging too much...I just want to know what the deal is with the festival and now I have to wait for next year for it? This chapter kinda put me in a bad mood =.= |

I’m sorry if this question has been posted before, but I’ve been wondering about this for a while:
What the hell happened to the author who drew these characters in the earliest chapters? Is he no longer the one who draw this manga? Did his other personality taken over his body? I mean, how come the character design change drastically from this: To this?: It’s almost like the recent artwork has become a parody of it’s former self. Usually, a mangaka’s drawing style is improving and become more and more polished as time passes, but this is like a backwards case. Can anybody give me a clue about the change in the artworks?

It's not worst, it's different, just because the characters have a simpler, more cutesy design doesn't make the art any better or worst. It's the same thing with Ah! My Goddess where the art changed styles to match tastes over the years, but the original style wasn't bad in any way.
There are artists that IMPROVE their manga's art, yes...Eiichiro Oda was an example, his style didn't change but his drawings got better over the years. |

I personally suspect that the reason there have been so many breaks lately is that our Author has written himself into a corner, and can't quite decide what to do about it. The "logical" ending goes about 10 more chapters (20 if he REALLY stretches), and then that's it. But anything that tries for a longer term run will feel so fake I doubt it would last much more than that anyway. I suspect his best chance at this point would be a prolonged flashback showing Rinne with her incarnation of the Dragon God, how that ended up, and then flash forward to get to the ending here. We'll see...

I've seen a lot of variation in the style in this story also. (The DragonBallZ hair still is hard to deal with.) As a former artist, and a lifelong student of art, I can see how the system of Mangaka/assistants could produce a lot of inconsistent results. But the charm of the early art is gone. Perhaps the author wants a more troubled look to match the stories' plot. What do you think? |

What do I think about the recent artwork? Well, it’s exactly like my previous post and your post stated: Gone is the charm (and the “realism”) of the earlier character design and replaced by girls’ faces which look more cartoony than ever and an MC who looks worse than Satoshi from Pokemon . It’s too bad, really.
I was actually interested in knowing the reason why the artwork changes (for the worse imo). Does this recent artwork makes the manga more popular or what?

I know he's got another series going,(Itadaki! not sure when it was last released ),and scheduling/family/health may be a problem for him.
We're not the only ones who noticed the art change, read the fifth paragraph. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/revi...ri-aoshi/gn-17 Maybe it's a habitual thing as he wraps up a story? |

If it’s indeed a habit of his, then I’m really against it. IMO by dropping the ball during the latest chapters, the author is betraying the fans who are drawn by the artwork of the initial chapters. I mean, many mangakas out there are improving their drawings to give the best to their loyal fans, yet this author thinks that dropping the quality in the last volumes/chapters is acceptable? (of course, that assuming that he’s doing this just for the lulz). I have seen similar case with a manga called Q.E.D. The character design in the initial chapters are decent, but then it turns for the worse. The main characters who’re gorgeous in volume 1 became plain and lazily drawn starting from the 20th+ volume or so.
