Episode 20 - Pretty Cure 5's Singing Debut!?
Phew... !
I did it. I have finally caught up with Arienai's latest sub release to Pretty Cure 5. I do like episodes featuring Gamao, bullfrog Nightmare dude, because they skip all the traditional sequence at the Nightmares HQ listening to complain and bickering that they cannot be promoted due to their failures at getting the Dream Collet. Making that aside, the animation looked dissimilar from episode nineteen and below; a different animation team, perhaps? But thankfully, it was bearable to watch. Anyways, a normative among several shoujo title is that they include at least one concert episode, and this was about Urara's singing debut. I found quite comical the rehearsal made by the other four girls with their cheerleading. To conclude I give thanks to Arienai for keeping at going on with Pretty Cure 5. I'll be waiting patiently for your next batch of episode releases. Expecting twenty-one since Milk debuts on that one. |

I'm currently up to episode 30 raw and 18 subbed. I probably should watch 19-20 subbed and 31-33 raw sometime soon I hope. In any case I did take a sneak peek at 33 because images indicated a new ending song. Which there is and it should be familiar to those who saw the second ending of Splash Star. They're quire similar to each other.

Thread bump!
Why? For shameless self-promotion. What have I been doing instead of subbing Yes! Pretty Cure 5? Why, making an original drama CD... Links and downloads are here: http://community.livejournal.com/precure/283845.html I wrote it, directed it, and mixed it, and will be selling the CD at the upcoming "Puri Fair" Yes! Pretty Cure 5 Only doujinshi event in Kawasaki, Japan on Feb 11th! It's 58 minutes. Yay! (And in english).

As long as the thread is bumped. I managed to finish the series raw. Now granted there is a lot I am uncertain on, but over all I'd say it's decent. Although it suffers from the padding problem the previous series has. Still the way the they deal with the main villain was a bit different than I expected.

Episode 21. The Servant Apprentice, Milk, Appears!!
It's been near about a year ago, since someone release a fansubbed episode to YPC5!
I admit that I felt nostalgic watching this episode long after the fansubs stopped. YPC5! ended back on January, and right now the sequel season to this series is airing in Japan. Nevertheless, it's good to learn that another group has stepped in to do fansubbing for this series. Spoiler:
Eggplant is the fansub group that released episode 21. Last edited by Guido; 2008-08-06 at 20:46. |

Although Milk is a better character. She's clever and underhanded. I could really come to like her.
But I could have spit out my milk when I figured it out. (I was eating Oreos and milk at the time of viewing this ep.) Come on... *giggles* Coco-nuts and Milk... Anyway.. it has been a long time, and I'm glad Eggplant has picked this up.

Episode 22 - Big Panic at Milk's Running Away from Home!
People, I've confirmed that Eggplant subs are releasing fansubs for YPC5, and looks like they are resuming from where Arienai left off which are good news.
In just a week they have released episodes 21 to 24. The scenes featuring Milk alone, actually, made me to cry in this episode. Milk was just trying to be helpful (specifically to Coco and Nuts) with things to make business in the store running smoothly. I do not agree with all of the girls' statements about why they had to behave stern and harsh on Milk to teach the latter her mistakes. Still, this episode delivered some good character drama by Milk. Lastly, I guessed it right about Milk's age, because Coco confirms that she's around Nozomi's age. |

Episode 23 - Big Pinch! Invitation to a Nightmare!
This is the first part of a two-episode mini-arc.
It would be hypocrisy from my part to complain that the other four girl's reaction toward Nozomi and Milk, accidentally, destroying the decoration, which took them days of effort to finish, was too much. If I were in their shoes, I will definitely feel pissed off and grumpy about it. The thing is that they let that incident to take out the worst inside Rin, Urara, Komachi, and Karen, and thanks to that, it became a whole lot easier for the darkness to swallow their hearts when Kawarino trapped all the four. Other things to notice is that Nightmare corporation issues the dark card as a last warning resource for the lackeys (in this case Girinma), who fail. Either they succeed with the assignment or are literally terminated. Girinma used the dark card on himself, which turned into a dark-colored version of the Kowainaa mask, to super-powered and bulk-up himself into a monster. Nozomi is extended the invitation by Kawarino to go to Nightmare HQ, if she wants her friends back to which both Coco and Nuts follow suit, as well Milk does secretly. |

Episode 24 - The New Power of the Five
This is the conclusion for the two episode mini-arc, which Pretty Cure acquires their new power-up magic, as it has been tradition for all previous series when reaching the halfway point in the episode count.
Kawarino has to be a serious powerhouse to be taken real seriously, and someone that must be not messed with btw, judging at how anxious and scary Bunbee got for him to have personally interfered and pledged Kawarino to fight Pretty Cure anywhere else except inside their HQ. Nozomi and Coco were the stars that got the entire team out of their desperate, dream world: Nozomi for not succumbing at all to the power of the Nightmares, and Coco for reaching her to wake her up, which in turn Nozomi woke up all the other Pretty Cure and all realized the importance of how the five together can do even the impossible. A death match ensued in a colisseum space, and after some brutal beatings Milk snapped. Her tears called upon the power of a giant, butterfly-shaped staff which all 5 Pretty Cure literally rode on it and crashed on the Girinma monster wiping him and hthe mask completely off existence. That's one Nightmare grunt down. |

Just seen the movie of Pretty Cure 5 Go Go, even if this isn't subbed, its pretty easy to understand in raw. As long as you seen a few years of subtitled anime, no problems what so ever.
Spoiler for What I thought:
Spoiler for Special:
And yes, I do want Toei to start a new mahou shoujo series, Ojamajo Doremi remains their best long-running mahou shoujo up to date.
