Madlax episode 8, another interesting episode. I kinda start to understand what the Elies writing do.

Lucille theory that Eric's memory is blocked and it required a similiar horrible experience to remove the block.


This scene comfirmed my tought that Eric has been in that cave before and he was present when the expedition members got killed.
Being there again is the right condition to remove his memory block.


Eric sucha tragic character, only known him for 2 episodes but he has quite some depth in his character.
He also seems to know more about Madlax and probably about Margaret too.


She materialized when Eric chants the Elies writings.


I forgot his name, but he seems to be deceiving the masked man with misleading information. He might have different agenda from Enfan.


The farewell letter from Eric to Margaret.


Theories. I believe the Elies writing bring out the dark desire inside the person, and the result was the world where Reticia stands, which is in ruins. That's why when Reticia showed up in front of Eric, she called this world is too normal and it's not a place for a person like Eric who has a monster inside him.

I think Reticia is the Deity of that dark desire.

I still have a big question. What's Eric connection with Margaret and Madlax in the past? Did he have anything to do with Margaret disapearance?

Again, Madlax jinx. It seems the guys who got involved with her always ended up dying. ^^

Therefore, the moral of the story is to never hire Madlax as a bodyguard if you are a man!!!! It's much better to hire Noir to take out your enemies first!!!!


BTW I am disappointed that I didn't get to see "fake Chloe" fight Madlax.....

"The world being too normal." in the case of Eric seemed to be that without the memory block, he had no way of surviving/living in the world with the horrible things he has done. A phrase which Reticia mentioned in one of the first episdoes pops into mind, "a place where a person can be who he/she is". Maybe the place Reticia and the boy resides in is a place which people like Eric, who for some reason cannot cope with the normal world can go to? (the constant scenery change from a paradise to a battlefield is quite interesting, maybe it means the contrast in what people needs to experience to go there. It doesnt need to be something horrible/violent/traumatic, just something that makes one unable to continue in the normal world)

This idea was sperung from Madlax's last words in ep8. None of our female leads are especially "normal" in any term. Madlax, who cannot even define the word normal due to her circumstances, and Margareth, who is obviously not coping all to well with her current life, even if she is not aware of it.

I got the impression of that Madlax has at point met Margareth, when she was sending the letter. O_o

Just started watching this series, and noted that at least ANBU-Lunar are hearing and subbing "Enfan". What's probably meant is "Enfants", French for "children", which makes quite a bit of sense in this context.

This show is getting better and better! For my money, I think Carrasour and the purple haired bodyguard chick are Altena and Chloe, more or less. They definately are out to be the main atagonists.

Eric did, so when she sees the Elies letters and she says them, BINGO - her memory comes back, along with everything that happened to her in the time she was away after the incident happened. I bet that involves serious weapons training.

I disagree totally about Noir 2. They had barely started the open expression of their relationship, and they still need to make a living. There's plenty of places the story can be taken. At minimum, I can see them being approached by Breffort again. And I can see them maybe accepting, too.

Lol I tought the Chloe in this anime would be Reticia. It seems she, Madlax and Margaret share that strange personalities. Just their view on the world is just way different from normal people.

Ep8 was great. I am glad I stuck with this series even during the wtf eps. We also find out how to spell Nafrece.

At least now we have a sense of where events are taking us. I'm thinking Margaret and Madlax meet, they both go to the cave, and unlock Margaret's memories with the elias words.

If that was Eric back in the cave, why did he kill everyone in the expedition team? Did he have a flashback and think the expedition team were the people who murdered his sister?

In the episode 8, Eric said ".. I was suposed to be avenging my little sister. But that wasn't the case. I just didn't notice the thing that was sleeping inside me."

I'm kinda guessing there is another side of him that kills people indiscriminately. And I don't think he realize it himself, until the Elies writing awaken it.

Why Leticia would be Chloe? At first I thought it's Rimelda, as they have the same VA...

I don't quite understand Eric's past either... I don't think he's related to that exploration team... from what I understand from those flashbacks,

his sister got raped and maybe killed by some people, and he killed those guys (the sin), then got imprisoned (the atonement), and lost his memories. the girls playing by the pool reminded him of his sister... and I guess all the fightings reminded him of the killing... and the Elies definitely has some mysterious power to mess with people's mind (it's called as "godly text" I think)

Hmm... about Madlax meeting Margaret in the next episode... I'm not sure... what caught my attention in the preview is Elinor in swimsuit and a naked Kuanjita (and hopefully Nahal too )

Oh on the tought on the final boss, don't forget about Madlax's manager who been giving her missions. At first I tought he was working for Enfan, but the last couple missions has been against Enfan. he could be another potential bad guy behind the scene and pulling the strings.

He's still a big mystery, kinda reminded of Charlie's Angel. ^^ He's got to be someone really good at his job tho to have Madlax working for him and doing missions that crosses Enfan interests.

episode 9 is another fantastic episode! could be my most favorite episode so far. It has a very fast pace and covers lot of stuff, and even has some fan-service! (well, at least fan-service in terms of Bee Train products )

the sad part is that another handsome guy related to Madlax died

The "Holy Capital" (I guess I should stop calling that place the "information world", "dream world", ruin/natural scenery/flower field/etc. etc. but use the term in the official website ) those two eerie kids reside in now seems to be somehow related to the world of the dead, since that guy saw Leticia when he's near death... Also it's clear now that Margaret has some supernatural power that enables her not only sensing things from a great distance, but also entering the Holy Capital.

And Kuanjitta and Nahal definitely have some secrets of their own, it seems they could be the real ones pulling the strings from behind. very suspicious.

My current theory is that the whole world is linked to the Holy Capital, maybe it's the nexus of all existence, and the place the souls of the dead go, which then get absorbed into the two kids or something (Eric supposedly went to the Holy Capital by killing himself). Those two kids could be said as some kind of "Gods", and the Elies text is somehow linked to them, possibly the key to the Holy Capital. Margaret, due to the incident 12 years ago or because of her possession of the Elies book, gets power from the Holy Capital, thus her power to sense/interfere with things over long distance. Enfan(t) tries to enter the Holy Capital and take over the world with its power, while Kuanjitta and Nahal are the keepers of Elies and have their own secret agenda

Madlax's boss could be someone who has information skills as good as Enfan. Because in episode 9, what was his name Carosour? His meeting there in that hotel was suposed to be a secret. But Ruchiano knows exactly where he gona be staying and when.

Also it's just strange that he comment Madlax shed a tear over the phone.

when margaret saw Reticia, Reticia disappeared and told that other boy that "somebody" tried to enter their world, as in margaret. I also think that Madlax's crying wasn't linked so much to Luciano as it was Margaret and Reticia, Donno, I'm still confused

well, it's obvious that Margaret has some ability to "intrude" into the Holy Capital, and that surprised the kids quite a bit. Also remember back in episode 4, Leticia commented that someone tried to reach her during the Enfan broadcast and "awakening"... I think maybe it meant the masked guy tried to reach her?

I guess Madlax shedding tears has somethign to do with her link with Leticia, thus she can feel Ruciano's death...
