A little bit. It looks like there's going to be a lot in 77 though.

Here's what happens in 76:

Spoiler for Chapter 76:

• Something is said about the World Tree that intrests Nodoka, Ayaka, Chachamaru, and even Sayo. (I'm guessing that it involves love with Negi)
• With age-changing pills, we get to see adult Konoka O_O
• Also chibi Setsuna and Konoka make an appearance. Their clothes are too big, so their pants and panties fall down... Then Konoka goes back to adult form and puts a two-piece swimsuit on.
• Ako (the soccer girl) falls and is caught by a cute boy who somehow knows her. All her friends try to get her to tell who it is, but she doesn't know. Turns out it's teenage Negi, again, with age-chaning pills.
• The whole point behind the age-chaning pills was that so Asuna would have a boy (teenage Negi) to practice confessing to so she she can confess to Mr. Takahata. We see what happens between them next chapter
• We also (finally) see Asuna in art club and a short return of Kotarou
• Oh... and everybody's wearing cat ears and whiskers... or a unicorn horn.

There was mention about that tree being a love confession spot back in Chapter 55 when Negi first asked Fei Ku to train him in Chinese Martial arts. He asked to meet her at the tree, and everybody got the wild speculation that he was going to confess his love to her there.

I get the feeling Ken Akamatsu ripped that idea off from the Tokimeki Memorial: Forever with You dating sim. It has a similar legend (which is the objective of the game, to get a girl to confess her love for you under a particular old tree on graduation day). Unless there are more sources of it.

I think I don't get is that

why should Nodoka need to concern about confessing to Negi? Didn't she already done that in Vol. 4 or was it 3 I forgot. If anything I think she should grab hold of Negi and preventing him from going to the world tree. She should use the pill and seduce Negi!!! BTW who wants to see Yue and Nodoka "grow up"?

Actually, it comes earlier than that, in Period 13, where the Narutaki twins take Negi to the world tree at the end of their tour through campus, and tell him about the legend of the tree as a confession spot.

Hmm, I remember hearing somewhere that Akamatsu intends for Negi to hook up with someone who isn't his obvious choice. I'm hoping it would be Konoka, but at this point no one really knows...

The anime ending yes, but the manga will most likely pairing Negi with Asuna. Unless Asuna turn out to be the ultimate space goddess of absolute magical destruction and Negi is forced to take her out before the Milkway Galaxy is destroyed. The chance of it happening is 10 to minus 40 %, though.

Hi guys! I'm also a fan of Negima (not to mention Akamatsu-san's works). Just wanted to ask a few things though...

1. I just looked at Chapter 13 in the part where Negi, Asuna and Konoka were gazing on Mahora U's area. There was this really, really large tree in the middle. Was that what they called the World Tree? (A cooler name would be Yggdrasil from Norse Mythology) I've only read up to Volume 2...

2. Does everyone in this thread know how to read Chinese or Japanese? Or do some of the people here look around for English translations on the Web like me?

Sorry for the stupid question but I was really itchin' to ask this to someone but there's no one I know who reads Negima (T-T).

1. The largest tree in the academy is the World Tree (at least that's what the scanlations say).

2. There are quite a number who can read Chinese or Japanese or both. I can read both (however, my command of the Japanese language is not very good). Usually I read the Chinese scanlations instead of the English scanslations as the English scanslations are usually (much) slower.

I can't read Chinese or Japanese, but I can figure out most of the story by looking at the pictures. It's easier than most people think.

Ditto. I personally prefer Chinese anyways for scanslations (English for fansubs), but I go with whichever group is fastest.

My Japanese is quite limited, and my Chnese limited to "Nihao", but as I already mentioned in my previous post to this thread, the German edition has just started coming out
If you're interested, my previous post also has the Isbns (ok, it's not English, but certainly a lot easier to understand than Japanese or Chinese).

i can read chinese, and some japanese, because i lived in hong kong for several years, in all honesty it was hard as hell learning to write and read english though....at first i was like wtf, why is sentences structured this way, but i think i got the hang of it.
