Finally got onto my school computer.... Aggghhh. I can't get brushes on it so I had to make do without any for now, here's my initial entry. Text will have to come later, too, no good fonts on this thing... C&C?

OOOHH!! Totally loving it! The lighting...the shadows...lovely. The only critique is that it looks like a simple crop sig. But I understand you're having computer problems. Can't wait to see what other details you'll put in it.

P.S. Okita...?

Nice themes here..

Here's some resources site where you can find some pics for the themes.

Weapon:

Shuushuu weapon
ZeroChan weapon
MTokyo wall weapon
Mtokyo Scan weapon

Sketch:

Shuushuu sketch
ZeroChan Sketch

Alice in Wonderland:

ShuuShuu Alice
Zerochan Alice
MT Alice

----------->>> Alice in Wonderland by Ryo Ueda (There is an artbook collection that features Alice, focus in there only)

Remember to choose the correct picture since not all alice in wonderland pictures are from alice in wonderland series... dont choose if there is a crossover tag.

For the weapon be sure to choose the one that depicts the most out of a weapon ^^

Good luck to all contestants

@ Haladflire65, I have to agree with PreSage, for now it look like a crop but a few brushs and some effects it won't anymore.

First concept;

Does this fit the weapons theme? I know it's borderless atm; it's only v1. Stock used.

Mmm, I disagree with felix, especially since the description for the theme explicitly states that the weapons must be made with the intent to attack/kill.
The objects in your image look like x-acto knives, which are made for precision cutting of things like paper, tape, office supplies...not for attacking humans.
But again, it'd be best to directly ask Namiey, who chose the theme.

You know you can use bows in a sport too ( like the picture that was in the weapon example ), but they can also be used for killing. Same thing with these knives ..

Tbh I find the whole rule '' with the intent to kill '' kinda stupid. A weapon is a weapon no matter what it was made for if it can also be used to kill.

While I sympathize with certain desires to bend the chosen theme for specific images that are preferred, I also feel that changing the theme rules to fit your own purposes overthrows the whole idea of the winner getting to choose their theme.

Namiey and Cierra were both very specific in deciding the parameters of the weapons theme, and I think it would be respectful to simply go with it.

Now the argument of bows for sport is way different than the argument over something like an x-acto knife or a pencil, as the latter two obviously were not made for attacking (just by visual confirmation alone). If I look at an image of a bow in a sig, I doubt I would question whether or not it was made for sport or for killing.

But if you think of it like that, can't you pretty much use anything to kill? You can stuff a piece of paper down someone's throat and choke them to death, or smash them on the head with a lamp I personally think we need that restriction. It's not that narrow, either - guns, knives, swords, bazookas, axes, scythes, cannons, tanks.... the list can go on and on.

Yes, I find it stupid too. There are weapons "created with the intent for killing", but they are not used for that (anymore), so what are they...

In the series, they were used with the intent of killing. How do you know she didn't make them herself?

I believe it has always been in the rules of the sotm competition that knowledge of a series does not support the sig fulfilling the theme. Voters should be able to look at the image and make the connection to the theme regardless of any prior familiarity with the anime/game/whatever. Though now I think we're going off-topic and should move future convo to the SOTM Discussion thread instead of this entry thread.

For more definitive allowances, it's best to just ask the theme setters themselves: Namiey, Cierra, JuJuBeez.

Halad, I believe that Namiey already specified that ordinary, everyday objects that could be used to kill wouldn't be appropriate for the theme he has laid out for this month. I believe a better phrasing, would be....

"Any sort of instrument or device either built or manufactured for the sole purpose of warefare, be it civilian or professionally owned. Time periods are not restricted, and may range from anything from 12th century swords, to modern day assault rifles may be implemented in signatures. Improvised weaponry is not advised, though if a signature implements it for the purposes of this weapons theme, it is subject to interpretation by Namiey."

How's that for a description on weapons intended to kill?

Very well. In the signature and source, there are several unidentified blades. Knowing the series we could reasonably say those are also part of the same category as the others. However as you say we have to ignore any knowledge, so we can't say for sure those aren't knife blades or some other weapon. She could be a escaped convict and those are weapons she made in jail for the purpose of killing/warfare...

If we're gonna reach here, then perhaps she stole the Eva Unit-01 progressive knife battle plans and manufactured tons of little versions to store in her backpack....
