How does she not react to a person trying to shoot an arrow at her? It's not like she was just turning around and the arrow was shot suddenly at her.

^^ this was the biggest shock in the entire series till now and to happen this in the season premiere, this season is going to be BIG. not to mention who is coming.

Still, I would have expected get some reaction beforehand, even if too late to move herself from danger. Oh, well.

I know Ra's is showing up later, but I was thinking it could also be Malcolm. It sounds weird to have Ra's using a seemingly fake voice like that.

Mean while Roy was quite shining, the flip and throat punch was nice and the way he climbed up that pillar was awesome his suit also looks nice.
though now he looks serious and hardened, can't wait to see Thea in training under Merlyn.

I don't see it being Malcolm because he was trying to keep a low profile and is trying not to attract Ra's attention. Killing Sarah at this point just causes more problems for him.

I think that's likely, and the creators have been promoting his appearance as being pretty plot important.

Not to mention that the teaser that had Ra's showed him with a sword, so I think he might just be the exception to the League of Assassins tendency for bow and quiver weaponry .

Poor Sara though, and so abruptly too .

I guess Laurel finally has a reason to become Black Canary... well, likely without the fishnets and sonic scream .

thought there was a chance she was alive. but she ded. so ded. any who, as a non comic reader, i had no idea Oliver's back story was so deep. they managed to tease 2 seasons' worth of curiosity out of me with the island back story, i wonder how much they'll get out of Hong Kong.

I kind of expected Sara to die at some point. Her death would pave the way for Laurel to take on the mantle of Black Canary to honor her sister. In the comics, Laurel Lance is the Black Canary after all.

I think Sara didn't expect the killer to strike because she knew that person or perhaps was even close to that person. That's the only explanation I could think of why a top assassin like Sara would die so easily.

Speeding through the second season of this has left me with one thought. "I really hate Thea."

I mean, I get why she would get upset at people. Everyone keeping secrets sucks. But my god, near the end of the second season I think she'd snap at someone who gave her a wrapped Christmas present and wouldn't tell her what was in it. She became such a pain I was left wishing her note was 100% honest and we'd never ever see her again. She really is Merlin's daughter, a real pain.

Never liked Thea either, especially since I really don't see the point of her character. And now they're trying to make her an anti-heroine which is reminiscent to what they did to Lana Lang in Smallville because it was such a dead end character and they ran out of ideas to make her interesting. If they wanted a Mia Dearden type of character then why not have Mia Dearden instead of creating a Thea Queen?

And now she's possibly going to end up being a Super Villain, or to Dark Archer/Merlyn what Arsenal is for Arrow. Honestly, Thea becoming a Super Villain would not surprise me in the least .

I'm starting to think Roy really made the right call going to help Arrow fight Deathstroke's army rather than run away with Thea. Instead of being stuck with her in who knows where, he's making a real difference in the city as a Superhero and it seems to have done him a lot of good.

As for this weeks episode:

So Komodo isn't the killer... and Merlyn's been training Thea all this time, so I doubt it was him. Unless he got word that Sara was sent by Ra's to find him, and made a pre-emptive strike against her. But that wouldn't really explain why Sara was so surprised and off guard when she saw him, so I think it's probably not Dark Archer. Aside from that, not a very big list of suspects left .

As for Komodo himself... well, he was an effective antagonist and certainly gave Oliver a run for his money, but I was expecting a little more from him. Lacroix seemed like an interesting guy once he started talking, so hopefully he makes a return later in the season .

His final fight with Arrow and Arsenal at Queen/Palmer Industries was pretty cool though

Also, is it just me, or did the Arrow-Cycle look more green in this episode ?

Considering how integral and major Sara was to Team Arrow, it only makes sense that her death would take a big toll. Oliver was left unable to grieve for the lover whom he'd never been able to get proper resolution with, and now never will, all for the sake of the rest of the team. And now, after beginning to believe he couldn't be Oliver Queen anymore, Oliver finally realizes that he doesn't want to give himself to the crusade so much that he ends up dying alone and in the Arrowcave .

The stress of Sara's death, and seeing how Oliver had to deal with it, has also seemed to have caused Felicity to begin rethinking what she wants to do with her life and led her into the fold of Ray Palmer who still swings from being a lovable jerk to a lovable nice guy .

Diggle has always been an awesome bro, but he went above and beyond here, coming back to the team to help support them through Sara's death and being there for Oliver when he really needed someone. While Arsenal will probably remain the main field partner for Arrow, Diggle being there as both backup and as a backbone for the team will probably be even more crucial. It was also very heartwarming of him and Lyla to name their daughter after Sara .

Tommy in the flashback was also an awesome bro, going all the way to Hong Kong because of the possibility that Oliver might still be alive. It was just really nice to see Tommy again. And I guess that was the first time Oliver used the "Arrow-voice," or at least what it's like without the vocoder?

Sara's death seems to have effected Laurel in the worst way possible, barely able to control her emotions and coming close to breaking down now that she's lost her sister again and seen her die in right in front of her eyes. All the more reason to take lessons to toughen herself up, both to make her a stronger person and to put her on the path of inheriting her sister's identity and becoming Black Canary. Well, likely minus the fishnets, but at least she'll have the jacket .

Now that I think about it though, shouldn't someone tell Sin that Sara's dead? That seems like something Roy should do, plus he could use a love interest now that Thea probably wants nothing to do with him.
