as ryner didnt want to kill people so he use izuchi cos izuchi is effective,but not deadly
look on how many time milk threw izuchi on ryner and he's still fine
on contrary the roland soldier got toasted when little ryner use kurenai on him

It did. It skipped an entire battle, but I thought it was a wonderful build-up episode. It had the atmosphere spot-on, and it really made the series take an even steeper turn into the darkness.

They also made the mysterious man's identity really obvious...even more so than the novel. And they skipped out on his ojisan image and drew him the way he was in Daiyuuden. LOL

I'm really, really looking forward to the next episode, because it covers all the juicy stuff.

And it's also Ryner's birthday today.

Not a bad thing though. Though I noticed the breast size of many characters suddenly went up...

The development near the end (from when Sion started talking to himself to the end) reminded me a bit of the first episode, unfortunately. As in, it wasn't interesting, actually...

Well animation style changed for the ladies, much bigger busts than i remember, Kiefer seems to not be doing well, some forbidden magic in the beginning attack Gastark troops, don't care who it was but should attack Gastark more, so Milk was indeed save, but had a weird spell on her, so she had a troubled past, so Claugh has a new arm, i find it funny that it is a different color, was it me or did Sion seem serious when he asked Ryner to be king?, nice how Ryner said that he couldn't be able to sleep if Sion fell asleep before him, i feel like Sion has a split personality now, nice how he called Froaude a worm, so he did infact order the purge, Sion is turning more and more evil, i wonder if Lucile carried out the mission, so Ryner is visited from someone from his past, looked like his father from that one dream he had, was he stabbed?, nice way to welcome someone home, upset not a lot of Ferris in this one, so next ep looks like Ferris fights that guy to get Ryner back

A great build up episode. Just loved the Sion-Ryner moments. Sion seems to be going completely mad now. Also Zombies attacking Runa? I guess the final arc of the series is going to be darker than the previous arcs.
The best part of the episode was Sion calling Miran a worm. He had that coming
And the worst part easily was Miran laughing when Sion's body was on fire(What was that aura anyway?). That just didn't fit in at all.
Anyway next episode seems to be awesome. Ferris vs Ryner's dad?

I have translated the "magic fundamentals" segment, which was cut from Runa's arc in the anime, because I needed a particular term to supplement a later volume. It's in Denyuuden volume 5 chapter 3 on baka-tsuki.
