it sounds like ishida may actually be a spy or plant, albeit an unknowing one. the way ishida's latent potential was put made it sound like he himself is unaware of it, so he may also be unaware of the quincies using him as a spy on the mysterious 5 war potentials, well at least on ichigo

Interestingly enough, the translation I initially came across called Ichigo and the other 4 beings special war "potentials" as oppose to special war "weapons". I wonder which is the more accurate interpretation?
Anyways, if I had things my way, "potentials" would be the more accurate translation and to that extent, the remaining four would be Mr. Just as planned, Captain Mom, Urahara, and Ishida. I mean, if you're the bad guys, waging a war on SS, the first 3 I listed seem to pose a lot of unknowns and therefore pose the most "potential" either way. Aizen's an immortal master schemer with an indestructible wishing orb attached to his chest. For obvious reasons, he could "potentially" become the Vandenreich's biggest ally or biggest backstabber since there's no way of knowing what he'll do or how strong he can become given the chance. As for Captain Mom, I doubt the scouting reports were able to dig up much on her fighting prowess in comparison to the other captains. So she could be incredibly strong or weak. That said, if this group has any sort of intelligence whatsoever, they'd acknowledge the fact that there's enough reasons for why you definitely wouldn't want to underestimate her. And Urahara is perhaps an even better master schemer than Aizen. So its virtually impossible to know how he'll try to ruin your day before its too late to do anything about it. Its also impossible to gauge this guys' fighting prowess with any kind of accuracy since his incredibly raw fighting power and skills are complimented with extreme intellect that makes it possible for him to stand up to almost anyone given the proper preparation. (this guy's basically batman) Perhaps the only thing you CAN count on is that he will indeed try to screw you over. The only reason I even mentioned Ishida is because I feel like that's the direction this story's going towards so far. Kubo's going to try to make him relevant somehow before this story comes to its close. So to that extent, he's also got some major "potential" at this point. |
