I think this episode hit my spot.

I really like Pirako as female anime character next to Vivi (ONE PIECE).

btw "Man-Birako"(Pu**y-flutterina) which they said is too direct dirty joke.
Especially when girls said that, I was shocked and bit excited.

I thought I have to do explain more for the honor of Gin-san, whether someone interest to this explanation about small matter.
Her name Chin-Pirako is from the word "Chinpira". this means "Hooligan" or "Punk". And "Chin" as a single word is a slang of p*nis.
I mean, normally, nobody imagine p*nis from the word "Chinpira" for example. Then Gin-san said "Man-Birako" as a dirty joke.
Strangely "Man" is a slang of girl's organs. "bira-bira" is a slang of fluttered things. So... either way, this is a too direct dirty joke.

That track playing while the battle was amazing too. Can that track be found in any of the previous OST's or will it be part of a new OST released some time in the future?

So much epicness, Gintoki finally snaps and that fight was just godly. Also seems Pirako set up Otose to be killed by Jirocho to anger Gintoki enough to kill Jirocho. Some kind of revenge for abandoning her and her mom.

I actually got goosehumps watching this episode. My god, the final five minutes were simply breathtaking. I seriouly doubt Otose is dead, but even so, that was incredibly powerful. This is the first time we've seen Gintoki completely lose his temper.

The animation was almost movie quality. Gintama is really one, if not the best manga to anime adaptation of all time. I've yet to be disappointed by it.

Pirako was giving off yandere vibes, but I never thougth she'd turn out to be such a scary bitch. She stabbed Katsuo without batting an eye , and she had the tranny's son kidnapped. I don't really want her to join the Yorozuya anymore...

Oh, Pirako tricked me. Still, I don't hate her but, her ranking is #36 now.
Otose really died without troll? I didn't know Gintama has such a serious plot.

Pirako.. no you just didn't Nice fight scene there but Gin wasn't in a composure state and nothing tops the fight with the Night King.. well yet.

Hopefully the rematch between Gin and Jirocho will be even more excellent. One last thing about Pirako.. those eyes

I'm genuinely shocked that they've apparently killed Otose. Never ever expected that. I said "apparently killed", but I suspect she's really dead. This seems like too serious a matter for it to be a troll.

Epic episode. The story is simply magnificent, on par with the Benizakura Arc.
I dunno if Otose is really dead or not. Let's hope that Jirocho actually spare her and didnt kill her.

And, noooooo, Pirako's hair has been cut. Now they can't grab her hair again.

Well, Otose is really old so her dying wouldn't be as devastating as Katsura's for example. She never had that important role and her death could change Gintoki. I actually think it could also change Gintama in a good way. Knowing Gintama they would do great funeral for her and even better funeral banquet/wake.

Why are people using spoiler tags when the episode's already been subbed? Also, is it just me or do some of those spoiler tags contain details about this arc that haven't been mentioned in the anime yet and are therefore manga spoilers for those of us who haven't read it...?

Well, whatever. Pretty good episode. I hope they don't try to pull a sympathy-fest for Jirocho and Pirako at the end of this arc, like they usually do for every villain, after what they just pulled in this episode. But eh, this is Gintama so they probably will anyway.

Also I just noticed in the ED how younger Jirocho looks exactly like Gintoki, only a tanned and scarred version of him.

Now that my friends is how you animate a fight scene. The budget for this adaptation must be insane, because you only see quality like that in a film. Incredible.

Using the flashback scene in the last scene was just perfect. I had goosebumps and was in tears. Only Gintama can do that.

Music placement was insanely good during the second half of this episode. One of the best things about the Gintama anime is that we get new BGM pieces for each arc, which makes them stand out all the more instead of just being repeats of past BGM's.

10/10 all around for this episode. I expect nothing less from Gintama.

Amazing episode, even more so, as the ending scene more then justified the way Gintoki snapped the way he did. Really well done, I really felt for him.

Wow 211 was spectacular! Pirako is a....interesting. I got yandere vibes from her in 210, girls that happy usually are Fight scene was incredible. 11/10.

Because there are some people like myself who don't get to watch it right after the subs come out, sometimes not for days, but still peek at the thread. I for one appreciate the fact everything was in spoilers since the ending was a bit of a shock. I wouldnt want to know that before I watched the episode. Obviously its an unwritten courtesy rule to tag raw epis but sometimes its nice to tag spoilers even if the epi has been subbed.

That was seriously the most amazing Gintama episode since I finished watching the Yoshiwara Burning arc O.o

This arc's story is excellent. It seems more large-scale than the previous ones, involving the whole Kabukichou District, instead of just particular groups like the in Benizakura, Shinsengumi or Yoshiwara Burning, yet it's still so deeply personal for the main cast.

Pirako's character is very interesting as well, she had me completely fooled in the previous ep. I still don't like her any more than I did before but she's making for some great development in the plot!

I was also really shocked. Is Otose really dead? If so I can't believe it, she's been with us for 210 freaking episodes and her character really grew on me. I think I almost cried, the flashback really hit home. The fight was epic and it was awesome to see Gintoki snap, and I also can't wait for the rematch between him and Jirochou.

All in all, spectacular second episode of the arc, I can't wait to see how it'll progress.

One spoiler tag at least did, not sure about others. Fortunately there wasn't too much vital information but regardless I'm quite disappointed that someone had to again ruin an arc or series for me cause they just had to answer questions/speculation in anime thread :/.

Also I agree about White Manju Bun about hiding them behind tags for those that might not be able to watch it immediately but I keep forgetting to do it too >.<

Well...yes. That's why they're in SPOILER tags. What about this concept don't you understand? :/

Anyways, to the topic on hand. Great episode. I'm always leery of the major story arcs in Gintama, as what makes Gintama so great in my eyes is the humor, and that tends to get drowned out as they try too hard to emulate Bleach or Naruto for 5-10 episodes. Btw, I hate Bleach and Naruto.

But, so far they've done a good job of keeping the humor while also throwing in the drama.

Anyways, Gintama has come a long way. Go back to the first few episodes (or even just the first episode) and watch Gintoki's fights. I have no idea how tongue in cheek the fourth wall breaking episodes are, in which they say the anime isn't popular/doing well/etc, but it must be doing well enough to have steadily received a higher and higher budget over the years. That was the best fight scene they've done yet. Just a shame it was so short. Still, I'd rather have short than Naruto like 25 million episodes to get through one fight filled with more exposition than a cadre of Las Vegas strippers. Quality over quantity.
