No? When Fran said not to leave her room, it meant her apartments. She can still go down to the ground floor. The scenes where she's outside saying goodbye are anime-original and may have been a mistake.

Also why can't her mother come visit her at the cathedral? Too busy with work? That doesn't seem likely. I don't recall Ferdinand saying anything that would exclude her mother.

Fran advised against having Eva come because she's visibly pregnant, and the bishop would hear about it. Plus, in the orphanage, pregnancy isn't viewed the same as in the lower city, though I'm not quite sure why they'd care if an outsider is pregnant.

So it's decided, Main will be adopted by that noble when she turns ten. I'm guessing that's how the season will end.

Also, I'm glad that Ferdinand actually cleared up the situation with Damuel. Before his explanation, I'm a bit hazy on how & why Damuel was punished.

And of course, a mysterious husbando is here. Time for Myne to work on her charm again (or not).

wow it's the first time i'm deing dissapointed by an episode on this show. suddenly the pace doubled (50pages per eps for the first two, 100page for this one) and a LOT of small but good details were lost.
poor rosina got the worst of it merrely mentioning her comming of age without doing anything else

well at least we have my favorite character come and episode sooner so that's that

I thought it was a pretty normal episode myself. Lots of scene setting for the future.

I don't see how spending more time on Rosina would have added anything of substance to the episode.

This series is very slow-paced already. And they have a lot to adapt if more seasons are greenlit. So I do not see any issue of speeding up a bit.

i will obviously not spoil anything but in ~420pages from the end of this episode there will be a super conveniant stoping point in the novel (the end of book 7).
i would be shocked if this season does not end at this exact point so i think the pace of 2ep/~100pages is quite good to achieve that.

and since the novels goes up to book 30 i have little hope to ever seeing the anime completely cover all that ^^

Yes, it goes beyond little child. Series is 33 books long after all, while the anime is barely half way into vol 6. But it's very slow to progress.

The recent episode makes me wonder; will she be so locked down as an adoptee that she cannot move about as she does? I have to assume not. That being the case, things don't really change for her. I can't see why she couldn't visit her family. She may not be staying home anymore, but it's not like she'll never see them again. As her mother pointed out, it's better than death.

I noticed the version I get first has subs that call her "Main". Drives me nuts, so I wrote a script today such that when my system detects a new episode it automatically extracts the sub track, modifies it to fix her name, then reintegrates it. Problem is, I forgot to make the search case sensitive so I giggled seeing this:

They also use "Head Priest" for Fredinand & "High Priest" for the old guy.

To be exact, there are currently 29 Volume released for the Main Story (with v30 releasing later this year), and 3 Side-Story Volumes directly connected to the Main Story (bringing the total to 33 volumes).
