As for Ogre being less troublesome than goblins, well yeah. Goblin rarely attack alone so chance are that lone goblin is a bait for an ambush. Ogre OTOH are like boss so there's usually only one of them.

Goblin also fight dirty as fuck, Zerg rushing, poison an etc...

Even for an elite army, they might be helpless against Unconventional Guerilla Warfare; especially when they had no Counter Insurgence training. think of NVA Vietcong's method of warfare, it would be easier to compare.

I don't know why Human didn't wipe them out just yet. I mean Hobbo/Shaman is not common, like 1-2 at most in one group . Beside they rarely leaving the cave . All we need is killing the "normal" ones . I don't know how fast they can grow but let say they need 3 month to became a fully grow up normal goblin . A group of well-armed milita with crossbows , spears and axe/swords can do just fine againt them.

Sure. Let's say the Goblin are at Stone-age or Bronze-age at best . All their good stuff (weapons/cloth) are human stuff they looted from their victim . And most of their members are weak (just say 13 year olds human childs weak). They are NOT strong , not at all and NOT well-armed . A group of milita with steel weapons can wipe them out easy . Heck. Even if they have 2-3 hobbo in their rank , no big deal , 4-5 bolt from crossbow can take care of that
