Me too, but I suppose that is what fanfic is for.

I discussed in my comments at Memento what I thought might be possible
for a future spinoff.

To me it would seem unlikely that she'd focus the spinoff on Takemoto
but you can never tell with this mangaka so here's my ideas of what
might be possible:

Those are my ideas anyway, not really spoilers but I tend to go on a bit
so made it possible to ignore them as you'd like.

My other idea regarding this series is now that the end of college life
has hit the characters square in the face we're now going to see how
they adapt to real life - which ones we see is open to question.

My feeling is that now that Umino Chika is post-college aged that's
what she'll look at next. At least, I suspect she is.

She says that Sugita and Kamiya are crazy and do some cute schtick based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms. She also says the three are like her close friends. She says the Hachikuro display at LaForet (a department store in Tokyo, I believe) will end at 5 pm Wednesday.

Can't believe it's taken this long to click with you. As soon as I heard him talk in ep 1 of Haruhi I knew it was Sugita Tomokazu(didn't know the name at the time but I knew it was Mayama's VA)

Hahaha now we know from where Morita got his wacky personality: His father! I’m in love with him even though he only appeared for 5 minutes.

Hagu thought of Shuu-chan as a lover? Or just a supporter? It surprised me a bit. However, I was thankful that she didn’t think of Takemoto because I’m a Hagu x Morita fan.

But nooo I don’t want Morita to leave Hagu! Now I’m more leaning toward the ending of them all being alone. Especially since I believe there was some “fore-shadowing” regarding who’s gonna couple with whom during the song haha.

Maybe I’m too sentimental, but at the end of the episode when Takemoto said “In the end we didn’t go to the ocean” my heart ached and my eyes actually got teary. I shivered when he was talking about the image being burnt in their mind, while we see them all happy on the ocean. In the end we all have to “split”…

Now I’m feeling all bitter-sweet-mixed-up.

Yea when he said that they didn't go it made me sad. I'm also going through a time where I have to leave a lot of my friends behind so it I could relate heavily to what Takemoto is going through.

It was kinda sad that when they wanted to go to the beach Yamada started counting everyone, even though they weren't all there. It shows how close they all used to be, and how far apart they have become.

wow... i think honey and clover II is the deepest anime i have ever seen... how can 20 minutes affect my entire life so??

God Bless whoever it is that created and conceptualized these characters and the words and emotions that flow through them.

I cried the hardest this episode. I really miss my friends back in my hometown. I never really gave them a proper goodbye when I left. Very familiar to how this episode went.

When Morita and Shuu were talking it felt real in respect to life in school and after school. All of us mesh together in school but when we graduate, all of us have our own paths to follow and we might never cross paths with each other and that really feels sad.

Oh btw, Hagu looks soooooo pretty this episode its killer.

Physics, i replied to the whole "manliness" thing on ur blog... understanding and indulging in emotions does not affect nor depict manliness. I played football for 4 yrs in high school, i bench-press over 300 pounds but i quit all that shit because of pre-med during college (though i hate it). yet one of my favorite movies is The English Patient, and all my favorite animes, deal with intense love stories (besides SEED and Champloo tho episode 11 was very romantic and deep). Planet ES, has to be the best told love story.
Because u love romance and u react to emotions ( the concept of love) that even Einstein was confounded by, does not make u lose ur manliness.

Ah, theres nothing like Honey and Clover II episode to start the day

Spoiler for Views:

The comedy dropped to a minimum. But the quality of the drama grew and grew. You can still feel the pain in Shinobu, Kaoru, Yamada, Takemoto and Hagu's hearts, whether its the same reason or not. I love it how this episode mixed their issues up, while deeply focusing on the current Morita brothers arc. I would think that this episode marked the end of the Mayama-Yamada arc, at least for now until the final resolution. But I don't know really, since Honey and Clover can timejump up to 2 months or more.

I almost cried on Kaoru's spaced-out scene. I can feel his pain, because I can relate to the "Dad likes my brother more than me" thing. His jealousy for Shinobu's talents was very evident that I think his reasons for wanting to recover his father's company would go along the lines of him finally doing something that he only can do. I'm not very sure on this speculation though, since only a part of the Morita Brother's Arc was shown. I'm sure we can know something by the next few episodes. I smiled a little when I thought that even the sidest of characters, Kaoru recieved a character development as well. Of course it's inevitable, since his was tied along with Shinobu.

Hagumi changed a lot, during the course of this series. She was spectacularly cute/beautiful in this episode. A little of her desires was shown, and also an explaination on why she's more inclined to Shinobu as a partner than our Takemoto. "But if I had someone to help me with my battles.... If I have that person...". The clues found in that phrase alone might go both ways though, but I believe that Shinobu can be the man that would help her open more boxes than she can alone. Maybe because they are both a sculptor and a painter, that their interest coincide rather than Takemoto's.

Knowing Hagumi's side, Shinobu's issues were also present all around this episode. Aside from the obvious Father issue, he's also intimidated by Takemoto's presence in Hagumi's heart. Takemoto may only be a friend to her, but his closeness to Hagumi was really making Shinobu doubt his love for her. Its really sad to see Shinobu slightly giving up the fight for his love.

Yamada's issues was finally getting some resolve, though it was really obvious that she is still in-love with Mayama. I personally thought that she's starting to move on, with Nomiya as the one who catches her. I'm really glad that she had the courage to advise Mayama on how he would live in Spain and (I think) how he could win Rika's heart over there. It was really painful, but Nomiya was there to comfort her.

And finally, Takemoto's pain was less personal this time. "In the end, we never went to the beach" probably signified some sadness in their inevitable parting. It would be sad to see the Honey and Clover characters to seperate, but its probably for the best.

This episode, while still being a Morita Brother's Arc one, was initiating the basis for the arcs to come, especially the one involving Morita-Hagu-Takemoto love triangle. I'm looking forward on how they would be resolved in the end. I hope it does a fair resolution to everyone of this greatest story: Honey and Clover.

To me it would seem unlikely that she'd focus the spinoff on Takemoto but you can never tell with this mangaka so here's my ideas of what might be possible: Spoiler: -morita at peter lucas filmmakers and those characters (allows for possible later hagu reapperance) -fujiwara design (nomiya/yamazaki/miwako etc.) (allows for possible later ayu / mayama / rika apperances) -temple restorers group (not necessarily with takemoto as main focus, my suggestion is that shin's story could be as easily as interesting as takemotos) (takemoto seems like the type who would stay in touch with old friends) -other professors/students at the art college but this is a long shot. But I think Umino Chika is smarter than these obvious spins. My guess is it will be something similar to Gojinko monogatari where you had a major character in that series showing up as an occasional minor character in Paradise Kiss that was set years later. Those are my ideas anyway, not really spoilers but I tend to go on a bit so made it possible to ignore them as you'd like.
