Damn, i did not notice there was a Castlevania topic in this forum. Have to say the action scenes were just glorious, epic dark fantasy atmosphere and every single character was fantastic with interesting backstories. Focusing on the villains to justify their current actions and actually making me understanding their side instead of them just being evil was a nice touch. Dracula tho... The final dialogue between him and Alucard was beautiful. How can a game adaptation be this good? Season 3 now!

Please, that is just hypocrisy. How rape is more appaling than seeing an human baby being eaten by a monster? How fucked up one must be to think like that? Both are terrible and this is coming from someone that can actually separate real life from fiction, so i'm kinda worried now by these people that are unable to do that and go on social media making a shitstorm because rape is a no no but dead baby bloodied corpses on a monster's mouth is ok

Sypha was easily the most beautiful character in this show. I think I fell in love when she made that Demon explode from the inside out.

Season 3 is out and it starts with Alucard going insane and Trevor killing a Werewolf with his bare hands.

I'm at ep 6 but... the writing... its SOOO GOOD! =03. Can't believe I put this off until I watched Altered Carbon s2, which was a struggle to watch =0<.

I thought it might be convoluted with 4 different storylines going on at once, but the writers do an excellent job at keeping the story interesting. I guess I'm so used to the over-exaggerations of emotions and expressions that are in practically every anime that seeing subtlety in the characters demeanor, even when making jokes, feels much more natural.

Love how Trevor's and Sypha's relationship has blossomed =03. I don't think they directly said that they love each other, yet, its SHOWN to us instead of told how they feel about each other, and I really like that. I like the way they read between the lines of one another; they're not that different from when they were introduced, but their conversations are filled with love in their snarky retorts, its quite adorable =03.

Issac's story has been pretty interesting. I expected him to bore me the most, but I guess its all in the company you keep. The conversation with the old antique seller and the Captain were enjoyable in their own right. Seeing him conflict with himself about giving humans a chance is an engaging turmoil to manifest. Its like a tiny spark of compassion starts to bud only for it to be destroyed just as quick. Although, I can't blame his attackers; to just trust him with beasts like his that he won't attack the city is a tall order, but at the very least I would think that the town's guard had some capabilities. Else, why the hell would they boast about stopping him, only for all of them to be completely overwhelmed?

The last I seen of Alucard in season 2 was saddening, to say the least (;_; ). Him alone in that castle, to live with his memories while he watches over the estate was a bit too cruel a fate for him imo, especially after seeing Trevor and Sypha ride off together into the sunset happy. It was pretty evident that he was extremely lonely, even then, and now moreso to the point of making those dolls. They were probably the first friends he ever had, despite their initial conflicts. Seeing him open up to Taka and Sumi felt like he had once again found some semblance of happiness. But since it hasn't appeared that they will be converging with any of the other storylines(so far), I hope their being there isn't some plot to kill Alucard after he teaches them how to effectively fight vampires and other new techniques. They had this... "look" in ep 6, when Alucard was giving Sumi a piggyback ride; y'know like they were confirming things were going according to plan. I really hope not, since Alucard doesn't deserve more heartbreak (;_; ).

And Lenore... man, I LOVE her design =03. She really is hitting all the right spots with Hector. Even ignoring her beauty and charming nature, I can certainly say, as the diplomat of the group, she is certainly good at her job. It feels like Hector is starting to be smitten with her, which I'm sure is just what she wants, but hopefully, she's not playing a "game" like Carmilla did last season, and has a legitimate peaceful nature. The whole thing about others taking her as being weak for her diplomacy tactics makes me think she's sincere, esp after calling her actions more of "commerce". Simply brilliant strategy!

I have a feeling things wont all tie up before the end of the season, but I'd rather it be open-ended than rushed. Heck, I wasn't even expecting a 3rd season(despite the loose ends), so a 4th probably won't be out of the question.

Well got to the end. That was.... certainly something... but at least it was something interesting =01.

What a dreary end =0<. The monster slaying action was great, as usual, but none were happy at the outcomes of their particular story, maybe except St. Germain.

The Judge being a sicko child killer definitely was the worst out of the bunch. I knew he was up to something bad when he came back in ep 8(?) sweating profusely, but I though he was just "a killer". Writers had to take it up a notch and make him a "child killer" with a trophy room of kids shoes in a secret room. He got off pretty lightly considering what he did.

As I expected, the twins would attack Alucard. It become more and more apparent in the latter episodes when Taka kept asking about the moving castle and destruction magic that they were planning to kill him and take the spoils. However, I thought it was under the orders of someone else; wouldn't have guessed that they've been doing that for some while now. I kinda chuckled when they started talking about making an empire because it seemed like such a silly dream to think about. Still, I feel mega-bad about Alucard who was really enjoying the newfound company, only to be betrayed. The twins KINDA felt like victims too; they might have been taken advantaged of more often than not, which made them not trust others. But its true that they were a bit greedy and impatient. I bet that kill-em-in-their-sleep tactic wasn't the first time they utilized that =02. Anywho, the whole "enemies on a spike" message gave me an impression Alucard might head down a dark road.

Hector...well, it was inevitable. He was gonna end up serving them one way or another, but the way Lenore manipulated him... twas AMAZING! All thinks considered, she did no less than a perfect job getting what she wanted, but still had the integrity to try and make it comfortable for Hector in the end. Plus she is very charming, so getting manipulated was a given, but at least she's beautiful and she won't treat him like s---.

Far as Issac goes, I'm not sure where his development took him. It was interesting, but at the end, after he killed the magician I couldn't tell whether he was enjoying the "sin" of what he did, or was he thinking about the future; whether its his future or the future of that empty town, I could not guess.

All and all, an enjoyable season. I was impressed at how wrapped up most of the different characters' arc were, and definitely can see the makings of a 4th season in the future. However long it takes, I'll certainly be along for the ride =03.

Season 2 had some dragging moments but season 3 drag quite some even more. Season 2 already ended in Alucard feeling grief but season 3 had to add him broken friendships when he is in desperated for any sort of love. While I enjoyed most of the action, the one with the most of it had to give us two vampire sex scenes for some time. It came across as really awkward. The new characters were quite appealing but it just felt as if we were prepared for the actual next season.

The new season is set to come out next month on May 15th. It will be the last season, but they will start a new project in the same universe, probably with one of the future generations.

Looks like I finished S3 just in time - watched it all in one sitting, great stuff. What I find particularly amazing is the storytelling itself; many characters of interest are introduced who may or may not be of use later in the future, and while the four main plot points head in a certain direction, their outcome is anything but focused. More specifically...

Spoiler for season 3 ending:

- Dracula is alive (technically dead) in Hell, but stays there for now. Dude's chillin' with his wife.
- Trevor and Sypha leave the Lindenfelt ruins with no clear goal. Could go anywhere.
- Adrian keeps waiting in his castle, brooding over the fickleness of human nature, in the exact same vein Isaac did at the start of S3, except he experienced the ugly side of things.
- OTOH Isaac succeeds in making history and has some faith in his work. His clash with Hector is now more pivotal, since...
- Hector is promoted to Lenore's slave. In all honestly, it's the best he could get out of his situation. I half-expected Lenore to control her sisters with the rest of the rings, but in any case, the Strigian quartet can try to expand until they meet Isaac's army. Or the vampire hunter duo, or a returning Dracula, or any new character introduced in S4.
- St. Germain has the least specific resolution. He literally travelled through space-time to find his significant other, but he could return as a great wizard, a Cthulu cultist, or he may not return at all (most likely scenario IMO).

Time to wait for the next season...

And Isaac is amazing.

Edit: And its done. Overall, I liked the story and while I do think that the final boss was different than I expected, I am satisfied. After years of tragedy, people can rebuild and move on towards a happy ending.

Watched all of season 4 today (hasn't happened to me in a long time).

I didn't like the third season because it was too slow paced, and this one was the complete opposite. It was pretty rushed, but I loved it. It was nice to see shit actually happen again. Very satisfied with the ending too, character arcs were wrapped up nicely.

When Trevor and Sypha found that statue of Death in the first episode, I knew it would be the final boss. I didn't think it had disguised itself as those people though.

Alucard's character arc in season three felt completely pointless in retrospect, since it apparently didn't lessen his trust in humans and his desire to help them.

Glad everyone got a happy ending. Except Lenore. She deserved better, she wasn't that bad.

You thought Malcolm McDowel was playing some random vampire, but no he was Death all along .

Season 3 set up Alucard as being bisexual and he ends up with another bisexual. That's about it .

Well, she definitely treated Hector better this season even if she had to face karma in the end. Ultimately their relationship seemed pretty complicated and hard to sum up...I guess I'm just glad Hector's okay.
