〆(・∀・@) I need help with some mangas plz.
Hello, thanks for stopping by. So I'm looking to collect more manga but am actually having some real difficulties. I was hoping someone could help.
I'm interested in manga with elements such as horror, mystery, suspense, gore, psychological thriller, not necessarily just a bad guy running around killing people but with a reason or something to discover as to why it's happening, who did it? I also like ghosts, oni/demon, spirits, anything super natural that doesn't lean on sci fi. Also, I'm interested in BL/Yaoi (not explicit H stuff lol.) However, I'm very cautious when approaching a new series because I much prefer not to have instances of rape, attempted sexual assault, molestation, sex scenes, even slight of hand mentions that a character experienced something similar in the material. I would like to have my reading experiences trigger-free. I'm a survivor of related situations, you see. If anyone might know of series with the things I enjoy, minus what's in my case traumatic, I'd much appreciate any suggestions. Some manga I already enjoy: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (my absolute favorite!) Uzumaki Gyo Death Note xxxHolic (isn't horror but has ghosts and demons) (...just because I mentioned I like demons I feel I should add, I've already watched/read InuYasha as a child (and didn't like it). I'm throwing that out there now before someone tries.) Thanks again for stopping by, I look forward to suggestions. |

Hyakkiyakou Shou is a really good supernatural manga, dealing with youkai and ghosts and all that.
Kiseijuu is a good horror/gore/psychological thriller manga, with quite a bit in the way of action (dunno if that's you're thing). Involves alien parasites invading humans and taking them over--the protagonist manages to isolate one in his arm before it can get to his brain, and the manga is about how they manage to live with each other and deal with other parasites they encounter... |

Feels like xxxHolic to me at times...in a way. Author makes other more explicit BL stuff too

Hey, hey slow down Just be a little patient, suggestions will come.
I personally have only seen the anime but, try Darker than Black - I'm only suggesting this off of my impression of the anime.

Seeing as you liked Uzumaki and Gyo, have you checked out Tomie?
Dragon Head has some elements of horror in it, though more psychological. Best survival manga I've read so far. Drifting Classroom comes a close second, if you don't mind classics. |
