Just looking for a new series to watch:
I mostly prefer Fantasy, Drama, and Comedy for Genres. For Shows, I will group them: Excellent Series: [I would watch multiple times] - Those who hunt elves [s2] - Tokyo Underground - Scrapped Princess - Read or Die OVA - .Hack//UdeDen - Slayers - XTV Good Series: [I would re-watch the series once or twice] - Loki Ragnarok [havent finished] - Groove Adventure Rave - Serial Experiments Lain - Happy Lesson - Bottle Fairy - Popotan - Munto - Spiral Bad Series: Wouldn't bother watching more then once, or might not even complete] - Ghost in the Shell - Gundam - Sento yuay yuka kaze [sp is bad, but im going from how a guy I know pronouced it, I haven't seen it written before so...] - Tokyo babylon I'm thinking of getting FMA or maybe finishing of Loki, but if anyone can suggest anything better... PS: whats boogiepop phantom about? |

Here is an extensive going-over of the winter season. Gokusen is my favorite winter series. The only show that might not be covered in the thread is Jubei-chan 2, about which you can find a thread in fansubs. If this is just a thread about "find me a new series" then the title of the thread is not much good.

i wonder, why ghost in the shell is on your list. how many epsiodes did you watch? my impression on the first 3 episodes was: "argh, again so much talking where you have to concentrate all the time, if you want to understand, what's going on." (ok, that may be only me, since english isn not my mother language) and my very first thought was "oh my, the female main character looks nothing like the one from the original movie."
i watched the whole series and have to say, that it is one of the best i have seen so far. the character drawing is just different from the movie, but not really worse (i have to admit though that i really don't like the outfit of the main protagonist. she looks like like a prostitute) and the animation quality is just awesome. the story? i really loved it. the plot is well written (and at the end it is really clear, what is/was going on unlike the movie, which you had to watch serveral times to understand, what it is about) and the "stand alone"-episodes, that don't contribute to the main-plot ("the laughing man") were also very enjoyable. gits was just so versatile and had so much different things going on in each episode. as example i liked the episode with the virtual chatroom. yes, it was all talk, but it was interesting. another episode i liked, was the one, where one of those spiderbots sneaked out of the base and took a day off. every episode is so different. that's what i really liked about gits. so if you only watched two or three episodes of it, i highly recommend, that you look into it again. i think that it really is worth it. if you watched the whole series and didn't like it, then i'd like to know, why you don't like it.

 Excellent series: Future boy conan Future boy conan Future boy conan Future boy conan and Future boy conan Bad series: Everthing else... Which means that you MUST download Future Boy Conan now oops This is not a new series >_< But still you must download it <_< PS: I'm not advertising old series. Really...
