Well quality most of the time depends in video resizing.
You shouldn't resize like crazy, for example a 1024 x 800 video to 466 x 391, try to reduce it around 75%, 50%, etc. Of the original size.

I'm afraid of going back to converting videos to .AVI (つд⊂)
Eh, sorry if this it's the wrong thread to post this kind of things, I just read quickly some posts and saw that this it's all about avatar/sig stuff.
Edit: Problem solved, just had get the VFW/YV12 codec.

thxs for the advice i cropped them down to make them smaller so the resizing won't affect the avatar as much and ended up with this
much better in my opinion

1) C4D are 3D models that help a lot to create efects and bgs for the sigs, you can find them googling around or going to sites like Deviantart or Planet Render

2) On GIMP, Select the text layer/ go Ctrl+A/ Layer/ Mask/ Add mask layer/ Alpha Chanel/ Add and It's done

Hmmm... so far I can see brushes and gradient maps, I think those are the main efects on both images beside of the backgrounds.

i can already tell you they both involve C4D, smudging, fractals, photo manipulation, lens flare, and using the sharpening effect, and gradient options in PS. you would really need to work hard at it to make those and knowledge of the "basic" tools in PS to get an understanding how to combine all of these into a fantastic work. if you understood what i just said, then just try combining all of them while using different options. use your imagination if you will. sorry if i can't be more specific, i haven't touched PS in 4 years.

not just that the whole process has got me whacked there are still some confusing parts from kina animation tutorial (probably because kina uses something other than gimp which is what i use....i know they are basically the same

Spoiler for for space:

those are some of the questions ive had hopefully they're not common sense questions (cause i would hate to be wasting someone's time)

Gradient map: basically, you pick the colors of a gradient as the main colors for the whole image, you can adjust the colors of the gradient to make variatons of tones and contrasts.

The answer would pe simple, GIMP does not work the same as Imageready in terms of animation. If you could link me to this tutorial of KiNA, maybe I could figurate how to work it on GIMP.

Actually GIMP-GAP is IMHO much more powerful the PS animation option :x (as far as PS CS2 are concerned.. I only have CS2 :'< )

You'll need GAP (GIMP animation package) .. google it.

Its a bit different.. but download GAP, and learn the basic.. it should be easy after you familiarise with GAP
