The Bolar Wars series was originally planned to be twice as long and the Space Battleship Arizona was designed to have a major plot arc as that series version of the Andromeda, but be more sympathetic than Andromeda originally was.

Andromeda was suppose to be a symbol of the over reliance on technology over humanity. It never came off as sinister in the original, but they did catch that in Yamato 2202 early on due to the ship being both massive, and armed with the "illegal" wave motion gun....and not just one, but TWO wave motion guns. (the horror). But I always hoped for Andromeda to be seen more as a heroic ship, one that took a stand, but fell so Yamato could finish the job.

Arizona was suppose to be the American built ship that would get an arc the story would follow for a handful of episodes while Yamato was busy with something else that would take time. It was on the same mission as Yamato, but would seemingly get itself into more trouble with the Bolar as the series went on, as the Yamato spent most of the series getting into trouble with the Galman-Gamilas. I suppose that both ships actions would lead the Bolar Union to campaign to wipe out the Earth and send out forces in Earth's direction, surrounding it in forces as the hunted down all the other International Space Battleships, Arizona being the last one standing. Yamato, being busy in Galman space, wouldn't get word of this until it was too late, and thus find the wrecks of this ship just before the final engagement with the Galmans before the final tipping point to return Earth and Gamilas to be on the same side again to fight the Bolar Union until the end of the series (while also saving Earth).

So I would hope to see Arizona again as hero ship, as she would be slightly larger than Andromeda, as she is based on that hull design, but only has one wave motion gun, and better independent mission specific equipment than the Andromeda class, which is a fleet based ship design.

Arizona too is more oriented towards fleet battle with 5 triple shock cannons but less secondary armament of casemated Shock cannons (the bulges on the Andromeda near the front) and the twin secondary barrel-less shock cannon turrets amidships on both sides.

Arizona should have the other Sister Ships like the Missouri and Iowa with Different Color Schemes and three of the Arizona Class in Battlecarrier configuration like the Hornet Enterprise and Yorktown.

Arizona gained at least one sister ship before Yamato Resurrection in the Space Battleship Pennsylvania, which seemed to be leading six more of that class in the Director's Cut.

Yet i.ve just hope they.ve been Added on the Bolar Wars Remake speaking of Russian Space Battleships like the Novik been much like a Soviet-Era Rocket when taking off if they added more like Missile Firing Space Battlecruisers ala Kirov Class. while the British had the Prince of Wales and it.s fleet Germans French and Italians have their own Fleet. in my opinion just whenever im thinking those ideas kicked in. for awesome.

Rough attempt at scaling the Gatlantis double-deck carrier. I did it assuming the turret is the same size as the main ones on the Calakmul, with the Gostok as a back up. It looks to be the biggest ship in the series, around 1000 meters.

This of course means we'll likely not get a 1/1000 model. sigh

Anyway, I did another scaling using the original double-deck carrier. I tried to match up the width of one of the runways with the width of the Nazca's runway. This would put it roughly at 500 meters.

I also stuck in the Guipellon and Gelvades. Makes me realize the Gamilas carriers are actually a bit small compared to the other capital ships.

The ground battleship goes by the name of "ヘルベスティア", which Google gave as "Herbestya". It's fully automated with an AI system.

Same person also tweeted this:

The Neu Deusura also uses the same AI system.

So those are some Gamilas designed turrets facing aft.

The Herbestya doesn't seem to have a Magnaflame gun in its lower bay, but instead has a Reflex Cannon installed into the main turret.

An AI fleet or mostly AI fleet with tiny crews, or clone captains makes the Gatlantis' huge fleet make some amount of sense if they can build them like Earth is now building its fleet. I half expect Gamilas to have already had a largerly automated ship, with only the command towers having the crew of only a dozen or so onboard....unless its a carrier that needs more manpower to handle the onboard craft plus pilots. Earth is getting more automated with the Andromeda and Dreadnoughts having 1/5th the crew of Yamato...or less. The older style designs probably are still crew intensive, and will be phased out to spread their trained crews across more and more ships. The crew of a Kongo type battleship could easily take over a Dreadnought or even an Andromeda with probably some extra people left over aside from the fighter squadrons personal.

As for Arizona, I feel she was designed based on the events of this war with the Comet Empire. More forward firing shock cannons within turrets to make up for the poor fire arcs of the casemate batteries. More pulse laser turrets on the flanks, more in line with Yamato than Andromeda. One less turret aft to make space for additional missile assets. One wave motion gun instead of two, for unknown reasons, since there are still Andromeda type ships in the future as well as other ships with single wave motion guns.

How many fighters do you suppose that huge Twin Deck Carrier of Gatlatis can carry? Should we assume they will only use the one type of fighter, or will they introduce one of the smaller one man fighters to act as escorts for bombing missions, or interceptors again the Earth carriers? And I don't mean the even smaller ones that Gatlatis itself will probably use for defensive purposese.

The ending credits seem very Dessler centric. They are building towards something.

Also, that is a lot of battleships. I am starting to think that perhaps we have a vastly large expectation of them from the first episode.

Also has anyone figured out what that huge ship sized missile on some of the missile battleships is called. Not the two they nornally have, the huge one that's as large as the rest of the ship.

Not to distract from the current conversation but I came across what appears to me to be SBY 2199/2202 fanart that some of you might find interesting.

Apparently the Huge ship sized missile on the Gatlantis missile battleships it being called a "vortex missile". It generates a vortex (duh), but for what end I don't know. It would keep an enemy ship from being able to maintain course and target locks I guess, plus such a disruption might cause this to collude?

I don't know, I have just a few limited things to go on right now.

Where did you get that translation? So far, the translation we've got was Annihilation missile (hametsu = ruin, destruction). As for what it does, basically...

Basically from one of Dan's spoilers on Sufficient Velocity.

And due to having to have to try to game this stuff out (eventually), I need all the details I can get, as more and more I keep thinking I need to scale down the Gatlantis ship in terms of their resilience to taking damage, as they've started to seem more and more like glass cannons, rather than the slightly more armored Gamilas ships, or the seemingly amazingly over-armored and shielded Earth ships.

Ah, yes, they're a bit flimsy. XD

But then, they do have what seems like millions upon millions of them. As for Dan calling it that... maybe he infered it from the scene.
