Nice to see that Huke's Insane BRS design is making it into the anime, even if Dead Master's design as a result.

However, I still find myself unsatisfied at how the school drama played out. All the insanity makes the human interactions seem unnatural. But hey, I'll just do what I did with the OVA: turn my brain off and enjoy the action scenes.

well, it was all but spelled out that the girls' insanity was caused by Saya in the first place. It is unnatural by Saya's design.

Her "Make them bleed hard so they heal faster" compared to Mato's "Keep working little by little to make things right, even if it hurts me".

The writing staff's theme song. Whatever they're one, I totally want it.

A little theme dump with Mato's bit at the end. Also, bracelet made of hair, ooooo.
As for Yuu, I guess the only people who can interact with her are ones with an otherworld self - the reason why Kohata had that bit on the bus. I guess anything goes at this point.

the thing is, Saya's method "works". The "only downside" is that the girls cut all their ties towards the world and the people who created their pain in the first place, but a person defines their self by those same bonds.

Saya is trying to make a world without pain, while Mato understand that the pain is necessary... which makes it all the more tragic because Mato needed to be broken according to Yuu and Rock. The only consolation before the next episode airs is that Rock told Mato that she would have to endure all the pain and stop running away from her suffering, which implies Mato won't be driven crazy by the experience.

hmm I'm finally understanding the meaning of the other world. Did Black Rock Shooter become one (Mato + Yuu)? Black Rock Shooter's eyes turned purple. Yuu's avatar in the other world is red and Mato's is blue. Blue + Red = purple

the star at the end broke does that mean Black Rock shooter will be the next to die? or at least focus on Mato's arc or whatever

BRS became one with Mato, and then went Insane mode due to excessive despair. Yuu has nothing to do with it (beside the fact that she transported Mato's mind into BRS, of course)

This series has no arcs, and the broken star is probably Insane Black Rock Shooter (IBRS)'s symbol.

well, at least, hopefully, BGS is not quite evil. still though, how the heck did she get that old when in the OVA they were fairly close in age to mato and yomi?
my spirits got a bit down with that...

So, if I understand this:
Extreme emotional stress creates Otherselves, for some people since Otherworld is not crowded.

When they mature they fight each other, but they are invulnerable like BRS, for example.

The more the person suffers from the problem kept fresh by her Otherself, the stronger the connection.

The closer they are, the stronger the Otherself gets.
But it becomes more human in return, for example: vulnerability, DM screaming and having blood.
So eventually it dies in battle and the person forgets everything about what pained them.

ok.... I just thought of something...I am going to write a really WILD guess on what the series is about.. I think that BRS and BGS is actually friends in this series.....

Some Points:
1) People with alternate self do not age. (They are a beyond human existence)
2) Yuu has merged enough of her existence into the other world that she becomes a very weak existence in the real world.
3) Saya's appearance is deceiving (She just "appears" to be older, using disguise, but she is actually young as well.)
4) At one point in time..... Mato and Yomi has direct control over the BRS and DM but they lost their memory and lost the link.

Basically Mato knows Saya, Yuu and Yomi before and are friends with them, but for some reason (I think this reason has something to do with Yuu), Mato lost her memories and lost her direct connection to BRS. Mato knows Saya from before, but Mato forgot about Saya and Yomi.

Therefore Saya is trying to save her friend Mato by trying to ignite Mato's memory using various methods.

In the end Mato is going to remember who she is.. and becomes friends with Saya and Yomi again.
