The signature size was updated last year to 600 x 160 at 100 KiB, and personally I think that's a pretty good height given the average size of most posts. I personally find it annoying when the size of the signature seems to be bigger than the actual post content.

P.S. Xefi: by the time you include the text, your signature is too big. It needs to fit in the box.

The file size of sigs could be improved though. 100kb is very low.

No complaints about the size. Neither avatars nor sigs should get any bigger than this.

Maybe, but... I'm also a bit afraid of people going a bit too spastic on the animation all over the place if they get more file size. Not saying I'm so against it... but I don't necessarily want to rush into it either.

to each their own i guess. i actually preferred 600x180. as a graphic designer, i just like my sig to be bigger.
i guess i'm just too use (spoiled) to by the bigger size and not really annoyed by it. if you guys don't like to increase it anymore,
i dont really mind much, 600x160 is a nice size. i can live with that.

Big thanks to the Moderators for the Avatar size increase! My new avatar would not be possible otherwise.

I agree with Kanon on actual size dimensions. I think Anime Suki has now hit the perfect balance size-wise.

I agree with Relentlessflame that I tend to dislike it when sigs take up more space on discussion threads than the actual discussion does.

Increased size is always nice, and while I don't do much sig/avy making anymore I certainly know the frustrations of dimensions and file size. On the other hand, forums are for reading. It's really irritating having large images to scroll past when the average post is generally only a paragraph at best.

Personally I think we're already pushing the size of signatures and avatars as it is, and I won't be in favor of making them any larger anytime soon. And to be honest, while I used to champion larger signature sizes, I'm starting to find it more pleasant to browse forums with much smaller signatures or signatures disabled entirely. I've considered turning them off here, sometimes.

Great to see this forum upping the set limits but 125kb for my gif is still really straining. ;_;

I got it perfect too and it was still just .2 over the limit. >.>

I'll echo these two sentiments.

Graphic to text ratio feels outta whack and the extra scrolling that arises from larger dimensions isn't something that I'm too thrilled about either. Could take some getting use to, but I'll just go out and venture a guess that I'm probably in the minority here anyway lol (now I'm curious, maybe we can make a site wide poll and find out? )

Increased in the pixel size has big effect to the quality of the GIFs... I think even increasing the bit size to 125kb, the quality can't keep up compared to the 100x100 = 100kb.

But to be honest... I'm still adjusting.... Every avatars gone humongous.... ^_^V

^ the feeling's mutual. at first, i was like "YAY" bigger avatar! now? lol...it seems
like it looks bigger than my sig! it's something i'm going to have to get a use to as well.

understandable. i guess it bothers some to scroll down some when the sig is about
20 pixels bigger. i have no problem, but the odds are against me in this.

but if you guys do change your mind in the future, i still think 600x180 is the best
and max you should go for. 180 in height isnt just for the sig alone, i'm more frustrated to not be able
to keep any texts in the sig. the texts i put in before doesnt really affect anything
in scrolling or bothers anyone, but forum's rule is forum's rule (got busted :P).

dont tell me make the sig even smaller to fit in those texts. i dont favor smaller sig.
i guess i'll just work with whatever we got now. :P

I've gotten rather tired of large signature graphics myself. Like Solace, I think the primary purpose of a forum is discussion. After all, signature graphics rarely change, so after the first or second viewing, they are largely noise and get in the way of reading.
