And it wasn't dropped as such, more like the one guy - Hobo-1 - scanlating it (and Tomehane! , Cupid's Pranks Nijidama , and a few others), just completely disappeared without a word of warning. |

Does she still seem like a hidden possible candidate for the protagonist or he set it straight with her that he is only in love with the doctor?

Wow, I read all the t/l chaps yesterday, I must say, I have rather mixed feelings regarding the unrequited love here. What I mean is that I want both Makoto and Chizuru to be happy, even though Makoto screwed herself over in this regard. Usually, I hate when a unrequited love goes completely unacknowledged, like with Makoto. However, I can't TRULY hate it because it was brought on by the power of the stigma. Even if the stigma's power is just a pretext for shattering her self-delusion that she only liked him as a good friend/brother-type, it's still hard for me to see her NOT get to sleep with Rin, or at least have Rin acknowledge her as a woman in some way.
Normally, I tend to hate protagonists that obsess with a single woman like Rin does to Chizuru, but here, it was done quite to my liking, as I wasn't annoyed a single bit by it, even before knowing about Chizuru's past. Speaking of which, I was extremely amazed at how infatuated Chizuru was with Rin. Usually the scenario is that they were simply childhood friends, and that Rin had a crush on an older woman, whom he tries to get to see him as a man, like in, say, Maison Ikkoku or something. But not here. I REALLY like the twist that made her behavior seem like she had seen the stigma, but in actuality, Chizuru simply had a mental dependence on loving Rin. That made the quality of the story a HELL of a lot better. I'd normally be rooting for the other girl(Makoto), because I'd generally feel that the loved girl(Chizuru) wouldn't deserve the attention the guy is giving to her(usually the loved girl tends to maintain a barrier of non-lovers to keep their friend-relationship stable). Here, after seeing how yandere-like Chizuru was in regards to loving Rin, even when he was an infant, I can't help but want to see her get to fulfill that wish. Glad the current arc is finally giving her what she's waited 15 years for(well things could still go wrong, as of chap 70).

Does the manga explain why the doctor wants Chizu so badly? I feel like the way he treats her, she's nothing more than just another 'achievement' to be had, ie, the girl that nobody else can get. However, that doesn't mean he'd need to make her his wife.
