I recently re-picked up my pb663 account (3rd-dan). Having some fun with it. Will be trying very hard not to get too addicted to it again like the previous times, ending in so much angst at the end.

I mean, look how bad I ran through the course of 25 games. Specifically, the .190 4th place % jumping to .261

nothing new other than the way the scoring works for the new modes.
both rating system and the amount of G's are in the system.
Dealing players gets penalized more if a winning player have positive special points.

Ohh I just made an ID for myself for the first time and I'm doing great!!! I finally (after an agonizing 5 games) got myself out of rookie and into 9 kyu!

My record is pretty good with 1-5-2-1.

I'm slowly building myself up!!

I have to mention that the second game I played, the dealer tsumo'ed san-baiman for 36,000! And just recently, a guy riiched on the 5th time around... I was playing safe against him for a few turns and I had nothing but risky tiles in my hand. I decided that I was going to discard my 9 pin next go around. Coincidentally, the guy across from my discarded his 9 pin and he was ronned for 13 Orphans! I dodged a bullet there...

It was crazy. I'm up against a bunch of better players and a 3 dan to my right. It was very intense. I got knocked down to 4,400 points at one time, and little did I know at south round 3 that I had a chance of winning the game...

South round 4. Only a miracle could save me... That's when I riiched. The guy to my left kan'ed the white dragon and I pulled off a tsumo dora 3, red dora 1, ura dora 3, riichi, round wind, and tsumo - 10 fan hand! That knocked us into the west round!!

Look at the last hand!! It was only after the game, when I was looking at the replay, did I realize that I was one tile away for getting suu anko...

What a game!

South 2: That musta been painful to watch being in furiten -- AND -- seeing 5 of your winning tiles being discarded. Only to be burned by hotei...

Either way, that was a nice comeback punches the next two winning renchans to put the whole game down to the wire. In any case, 2nd place in a game like this -- after being dropped down to 4400 is as good as a win.

Yes, being in furiten and watching my tiles get dropped was sad! But then again, that's what I get for trying for a tsumo win >.<
