Well that's kinda a not so specific request. The first that popped into my head was Itazura na Kiss, since the plot advances pretty fast. Other than that, you might want to watch 13 episode series that had a definitive ending such as ef - a tale of memories, Onegai Teacher, Onegai Twins, and True Tears. REC and Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora are also short series that you could watch.

sorry i didnt put much in it but i really dont have any specifics it can be action or just drama or serious just have a relationship happening and going somewhere... and i would rather have shorter series like the 26 or 24 or 13..

Ok there are TONS! of romance anime in general do you want slice of life or action... Or just romance where they two individuals fall inlove and something more happens..

Erm Clannad is hardly a GREAT example of a romance yeah it has the feelings between Nagisa and Okazaki but it only happens at the end of the series apart from that there just friends its more drama/comedy with hint of romance. Honey & Clover is a good one and Ai Yori Aoishi too

well some romances have to build up to the getting together part with character development in between;jumping straight to the couples thing just takes the excitement.


Spice and Wolf-you could consider it a couple development anime;merchant finds himself traveling with a wolf deity and eventually they establish feelings for each other

I would argue that 1) Clannad isn't a great example of anime that leads somewhere. Sure, it does lead somewhere, but there are plenty of anime that fit more into the OP's description. And 2) Clannad isn't mostly a romance series.

There just too many animes with romance... at least tell us some animes you liked. It isnt that i dont want to make a suggestion but there are simply too many xD
