Well, it seems to me that there is some potential with the story as long as we get past all the senseless sexual crap they're throwing in. I wasn't against it at first, but now it's just getting silly.
There's some interesting plot elements going on that raise some good questions. Why are the humans taking the big dragon away? power source perhaps for humanity to be able to use mana? After all, the bigger dragons have been shown to use mostly mana based attacks. Also, what organization is Tusk with? Looks like he had comrades... Spoiler for pic:

I always wondered WHY they use "Ice Bullets" when it's clear they have the firepower to "vaporize" them. And Tusk is another revelation about the Normas since it was stated in the series that only "women" had a chance of being "Normas" Though it's interesting to see how Jill lost her arm and it looked like it was quite a massive battle with tons of casualties. |

Tusk is actually pretty likable so far. Also nice that Angie accepted the other girl's attempts to befriend her. Although this did raise a few questions like why Tusk was on that island and what they were doing with the Dragon?
Also what type of Soup explodes?

Vandread is too awesome to put on a comparison with this series.
I think Tusk belongs to another country. Are all the countries in the world mana using or only Ange's former country? We don't hear or know anything about the other countries. Also, the dead trainee pilot was awed that there was a country that uses mana... meaning, she was in awe that one and only one existed. Unless the dialogue was incorrect, she didn't know of any other mana using countries. The Vilkiss seemed to have belonged to Tusk's mom. Could it be possible that the Vilkiss belonged to another country as well?

I kind of wish there would've been two episodes with Ange stuck on this island with Tusk, since everything happened rather fast(from our point of view, not the characters' since it was shown that a few days might've passed).
I mean,it's understandable that she'd soften up to him given the circumstances and I welcome this next stage of her development but it could've looked more natural if given more time. Ange's softening-up need's to happen gradually as well. |

All the sexual silliness aside, quite a few interesting plot questions pop up this episode:
#Tusk knows Jill through her mother who was once the pilot of Vilkiss. Explains why he knew the paramail upon seeing it I guess? #Also, is Tusk a Norma? Thought it was only the women. +_+ #Tusk's Dad was in uniform in the family picture, perhaps Paramail pilots had male partners who piloted something that docked with the paramails? Ala 00 Raiser? +_+ #What the heck are the humans using the Dragons for. They always seems to put them on ice but not outright vaporize them with their weapons. O_o |

No doubt, it was. That said I was making the comparison because when their mechs combined remember their seating arrangements? I imagine the samething will happen when Ange's and Tusk's mechs combine going by the current flow of the series so far
