Fantastic start love the gore albeit a bit tasteless to some. Also i wonder if Migi had sexual tendencies when he grabbed her chest.
The designs on Migi are extraordinary, the detail in his lips and movements are amazing.
Also was hyped for Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas's new song well i got half satisfied guess that's what I get for being hyped..

^ I think it was more of a biological interest, his host don't has these strange bulks and maybe Migi just wanted to see what would happen when he touched one of them (he later googled it in class i think... )

I heard so much of this manga, saw a few pics on the net but never read it. So having it animated is actually something very pleasant.
And wow, it was a pretty good episode.
Migi is an intruiging character... disturbing and cute at the same time. And I totaly digg Hirano's voice for him/her/it(?).

I totaly will watch this.

Migis manga counterpart showed great interest in sex and reproduction, so I guess anime one is same just more subte about it.

I have fond memories of reading the first few volumes of the manga in my local manga rental shop. That was like 15 years ago? LOL.

This was a great start. Nice suspense and the horrific parasytes are well done. I really like the casting of Aya Hirano as Migi. Giving Migi a female voice adds more to its alien nature and it speaks like a robot, devoid of all emotion.

It sucks that the OP will not be available until January....

As a long time fan of the manga, I'm pleasantly surprised on how well this was executed!
The Konata-Miggy was a bit offputting, it's entirely not what I had imagined Miggy to sound like, but I'll get used to it. And besides, this version of "Shinichi, it's cold" was adorable as hell!

2nd episode in two days when will the battles happen I wonder introducing the plot and the organisation next I would expect but since this doesn't seem your typical shounen battle manga series It might just go a different path altogether.

It's not a shounen manga series in the first place.
Ran in Afternoon in the early 90s, a seinen manga mag.
There are battles, yes, but not a focus of the story. It's more of a sci-fi horror genre.

yeah that's what I was getting at it does feel like it does have those elements especially in the opening but I do know that it's far beyond just that were talking mindfuck, despair and overall scifi goodness

With Halloween right around the corner I'm encouraging myself to try a chance with this show.

Only saw screencaps from blogs I regularly visit, but my first impressions on the alien and guro effects scream "THE THING" to me. However, that is before I'll be picking this show.

Spoiler for Episode 1:

I'm in love with the story so far, it seems Izumi wasn't an idiot but he takes things a bit too farfetched for his own. I liked the moments when he took a new level of badassery and bits people up thanks to Migi. Looks like his childhood friend didn't realize the fact he's not so human so far, but their romantic date was so sweet.

The pacing is also very fast paced, it was produced with a tight budget in mind and the fighting was very well-animated without any boring censorship that covers it like a certain other dark seinen manga adaptation running this season. That last moment though, I feel like the naked woman watching what's going in the city nighttime might be the person behind the scenes and I'm guessing she's an antagonist. Things are getting harder for sure!

BASED Madhouse. They are adapting this to what I had expected or perhaps beyond what I'm expecting now. I might even re-read the manga again in the next few days.

Izumi got used to his right hand friend pretty fast.
Having Migi around is proving to be handy.
The bathroom scene was ROFL
It's good Izumi wanted to do something about the killings.
Was surprised Migi resisted the temptation to ditch Izumi.
Guess he likes his host a lot!
Wow, Izumi sure got way cooler & brave too!

It's only similar to Spiderman at the beginning. The path the character development takes as well as the themes explored is quite different from most versions of Spiderman I've read/watched.
