Atlus announced a final release date of August 18 in Japan for tactical role-playing game Growlanser IV: Over Reloaded (the name was changed from Overload), and represents an expanded version of Growlanser IV: The Wayfarer of Time for PS2. NEW! Atlus USA announced that they will localize this game and it is scheduled to be released sometimes during the summer 2012. The name will be simply called Growlanser The Wayfarer of Time.

A number of tweaks were made to streamline Growlanser IV for PSP too. The game supports data install for faster loading times. There is also a message skip feature, which could come in handy for fans searching for other routes. Atlus also modified the battle system so the game’s tempo is up for the entire run.

New characters breath a new life into the story. Game Star says that Satoshi Urushihara, character designer, drew a large number of additional characters. So far, Atlus announced two – D-MD and Tricia.

In response to fans, Atlus wanted to implement a way for deepen relations between characters. The PSP version lets you spend a vacation away from the plot with the game’s characters. There are 40 endings in it as well!

I'd go instantly for a proper new Der Langrisser or just the remake is fine. After the 2nd one, thing just went downhill.

Btw, does this one has japanese voice?

So one of my favorite H-Artist is back in action! I enjoyed the Growlanser series, might look into this. And ZoMg my favorite little dark fairy is back!

Satoshi Urushihara is definitely a genius. I simply adore his drawings. I really hope someone picks this up and localize, multiple endings with a girl is a win in my book. As for voice overs, I'm not sure. Don't know if original game on ps2 had them ether. We shall know more when the few gameplay videos pop up.

Must-buy for me. I would have never ever thought that another Growlanser will be localized

. Wayfarer of Time is quite a nice game eventhough the jp. PS2-version had too "low-volumed" voices at some scenes. It was quite hard to acustically understand the characters during those moments.

The Holiday system has been there in the PS2 version, I think.

That's great news. I would have preferred it if Atlus had localized Nora and the Time Studio instead, but we all know it would never sell.

It kinda bugs me that Atlus isn't really giving much bump into promoting this game. If they showed more trailers with features this game has, it would boost excitement for sure. ^^

I hope this one is like 2 and 3... I loved those two back when it came out. Sadly did not like Heritage of War and never completed it.

This topic makes me want to go and replay 2 and 3 again.

40 ending as well!? is that like bad, normal and good ending for every character?

i'll give this game a go. i use to play 2 & 3 on the ps2 back then and love them.
beat 2, but i lost my disc for game 3, so i didnt finish 3 at all.

i'll buy it just to support the Growlanser series. and i would also love to see a Langrisser
remake too! Warsong 1+2 on the Sega Genesis were really FANTASTIC!

I have hearly forgotten about the US-release of Growlanser IV. Definitely a good reason to play more PSP this summer

Hopefully the german customs will decide to be generous.

Warning - the newly added routes are horrible. I highly recommend going for the original story route on your first play through. (To stay in original story route by not giving Pamela the reports she needs).
