Meh, sometimes I get the feeling that people here hate the main heroines just for the sake of going against the tropes.

Is there a series where the main heroine is loved here in the west?

I do not see problem with Yuna, she is not a tsundere that beats the protagonist for any reason or a childhood friend. It surprises me that someone likes Hibari, she's such a shit from my point of view.

Naturally the main heroine haters treat everyone who doesn’t agree with them like they’re idiots or have no taste, talking about “true polls” and generalizing an entire country’s fanbase for not conforming to western enlightenment.

yeah, it's the japanese that create such programs, but still they are always treated like that by the rest of the world, "a people with no taste for something that is good." It seems biased to me.

well, according to the Megalo Box official twitter, the series managed to be the most watched anime in the summer in some exclusive streaming services in Japan where the series was shown. But we have to remember that it is otakus hardcores who love to buy several products from the same shown, and MB was not for them.

They’re called “main heroines” for a reason. And I’m sorry, but there are many many titles where the main heroine doesn’t win. You yourself have a link to a list of such titles in your signature.
And while you yourself may not have said anything to look down on main heroine supporters, we literally just had one person here say they have “shit taste.” And he’s not the only one like that around. It’s absolutely about looking down on main heroine supporters.

It's like saying that it's boring that the hero always win. Of course, he's hero, he is destined to overcome all the obstacle and triumph.
Same for the heroine. It's her story, of course in most cases she's destined to win. And it's usually the opposite, she doesn't win because she is the first, she is the first because she has to win.
There are stories when the main girl ends up badly written and then I can understand wishing that the author would change his plans, but it's not the case here. I find Yuuna a very likeable character and while I have small hopes for an harem ending, I won't be disappointed if she wins.

you are reading the wrong series, you read a manga jump, of course it will be predictable.

Have you read youkoso jitsuryoku?

The series is famous for having the elements you want to see.

There may not be great characters, but I would disagree there aren't better.

-There is Hibari, Noboro and Karura, who despite limited panel-time got much greater amount of character development than current main heroine. And as they are now they are quite likeable, even if I myself didn't felt that way initially.
-There is Nonko who despite having around same amount of depth is at least working adult.
-And of course there is Sagiri, who is well rounded character and have good dynamics with Kogarashi.

As I said before, it's not like there is nothing to do with Yuuna, but rather that author does not bother doing anything with her which combined with too much panel time lead to this.

If I have to call characters bland in this series I'll say Nonko (she only drinks and shows herself half naked), Yaya (only eats and sleeps), Koyuzu (gag character with a boob fetish).
Yuuna received her fair bit of development. Not as much as Oboro who went from villain to heroine but we saw her developing feelings and struggling from being a ghost who likes a human. Plus there are still lots of mysteries surrounding her (and I actually want the author to start giving us some answers).
I like Sagiri but I can't see her so much more interesting that Yuuna. If she was the main heroine she would have been hated for being a tsundere.

Kogarashi's master that also double as first love? That's interesting. Unless it turns out in the next chapter that he didn't mean romantic love. But if he actually liked her...my feared open ending is less likely.
