After watching Fate/Zero, I have a question about the summoning ritual. Is the relic used in the ritual related to a specific hero? For example, the robe used to summon Rider once belongs to Rider.

Yes, the purpose of the relic is to provide a connection to the hero you wish to summon. So generally the best relics are like...bones or ashes of the hero, followed by items they owned, etc etc.

IIRC, it is stated somewhere that the servant you summon will be related to the kind of person you are in some way. Does that still hold true if you're summoning from a relic? It would involve the grail warping the servant's personality (or even their past), but, since it's a machine that can grant any wish, I don't see that that's impossible.

the relic connection comes first,

if the master don't have a relic then the grail will try to summon match the master's personality.

the first 13-episode season will air from October to December, and the second will start from episode #14 next April. The end of the Holy Grail War will be depicted in the anime in June.

Does Saber Lily have any story behind her like Saber Alter does, or is she nothing more than an alternate outfit?

Just a little bit nothing to much important.

Saber Lily is a design Takashi Takeuchi did a long time ago when the project for the fate universe was created.

In his words he design her like that, thinking on how would Arthuria would look if there was no need for her to hide the fact she was a female.

And that's all of it. Its just a concept idea that later was used in the Fate/unlimited codes game.

Not that I'm complaining but... the novel is 4 volumes long right? Is that really enough material for 2-cours 24-26 episodes? Don't most light novel adaptations go through 3-4 volumes in 1-cour? I'm guessing there will be a lot of slice of life filler.

Durarara took 2 cours to cover 3 volumes and the anime is adding in anime-only scenes as well so I'm sure 4 volumes is enough to cover 2 cours.

Alright I guess I can ask this here. It's been a while since I played F/SN and the endings are a bit blurry to me but I just started playing Hollow Ataraxia and I'm struggling to think which ending allows all this to proceed six months after the end of the fifth war.

Spoiler for plot:

Or did they go for an original ending that allowed for such a setting? Sorry if I'm missing something but I've been rattling my brain for the past half hour in the car over it.
