A thoroughly enjoyable series from start to finish - supremely low key in the best sense of the word and a delight on most every front. The only drawback was the "average'ish" art, but that is not such a big deal for me.
The final ep was actually quite interesting in learning about Yomi and her ... legacy. Roughly an 8.75/10 from me - would like a second season, but not holding my breath.

Remember, medieval communications. Alexander has no fixed address so there was no real way for the Sage to contact him. He was only able to talk to him after Alex showed up at his door. As they said, last time they saw each other Sage was still a young man.

I'm aware that a restaurant can have just 1 chef, but there are also other kitchen staffs, especially in the preparation part, so I wonder how on earth can the chefs keep up with such workload
Not only he has to do all the cooking by himself, but most of the "otherworldly" customers have quite (understandably) large appetite ahh, I'm gonna miss this, is season 2 possible? Need moar Kuro

The Day of Satur service he provides is for a very limited clientele, a dozen people over a period of fourteen hours or so. Assuming multiple table orders and takeaways and some preparation before opening time like starting the Dragon Queen's stew then it's certainly doable with one person, especially since he's now got a couple of waitresses on hand who can help with kitchen duties other than cooking (we see Aletta doing some of the washing-up, for example). Very pleasant series, an amuse-bouche rather than grande cuisine but one I looked forward to watching every week. I loved the "battle music" every time a new customer took their first bite of what would become their favourite dish. 7/10.

wow... now we need a spinoff about Yomi it could be a great isekai anime
I think Master have a superpower in term of preparing foods all by himself There is no human could prepare food that fast even if you just need to re-heat the food and it is a sad story about Alexander I hope he would embrace his family in the future This episode explained why this restaurant is under the protection of Red Dragon... Yomi was probably using her old connection to establish the restaurant although it is too bad that she didn't roam around in her old world since she already declared dead and since his grandfather managed to take the heart of the strongest hero with his cooking, Master should be able to find a wife in another world using the same way 9/10... I never got bored with this |

I was going to give it 8 but this chapter one another point with yomi and alex, to think she was reversed isekai and live happily and lol, I was afraid with the meeting of alex and aldelhaid, something like artorious didn't want them to meet because it will start a romance with his reputation, would feel bad for the prince sand. xD
9/10. |

I'm going to miss this show. I even ate two whole double cheeseburgers while watching the last episode!
Looks like they did explain the origin of the door a little bit. All in all a pleasant series, and that OP is definitely one of the best this year!

Hm...I'm just wondering, the chef's grandpa seemed to be a legit chef as well, but Yomi did mention that she wished to pass on her cooking skill rather than sword or magic.
So our current chef can make the best of both worlds? So unfair imo Speaking of spin off, I wouldn't mind seeing how the restaurant does during weekdays where regular humans from our world eat there

If an anime could ever be compared to comfort food... then this would be it. A nice series that knew what it was about, and did it simply, well and with a grounded style with the odd twist.
I'm really going to miss this one.

A pleasant show at the end, but there isn't much I can say about it. While the last 3rd of it started becoming more people and less about the food as I hoped, it didn't really break away from or at least do enough with it's formulaic setup reach it's potential imo. Outside the that forest Elf most of the recurring cast wasn't as fleshed out as they could have been partially because most of episodes spent time on introducing new dishes, characters and having them come and go. But I dd like learning about the various way people were connected to each other at least such as Yomi being chef's grandmother.
I don't regret my time watching it, but I can't say it is something I will miss. Pops for standing out for usual Isekai fair with basic premise too. |
