http://rs114.rapidshare.com/files/33440665/higu-dub.rar My ears bleed and my brain screams "STOP THE TORTURE" ~~ -Keiichi : maybe it is because of souichiro hoshi, but i felt his voice a bit too high-piched. Keiichi VA failed litteraly the "usoda" part : he wasn't scared at all, but more like embarassed. -Rena : Kaii mode : absurdely squeaky. it is far from cute and soothing...(and you actually tell pretty well that she is forcing on her voice) Scary mode : better, but her accent is really too rampant... (the amount of "aren't you" is exaggerated). Her laugh doesn't work, it is too far from the normal/creepy voice to me. (if i didn't pay attention to the background, i thought it was someone else laugh. -Mion : Decent, she is energetic, but lacks slightly of her playful side (though she succeed keeping Mion's confidence and stuff) Too bad she failed "keiichi is angry" scene Her psychotic laughter isn't bad at all, except at the end, sadly. The most important thing however : Does Miss Kassidi is able to have a proper voice for Shion? -Satoko : her laugh completely destroyed my ears. she doesn't have any "brat" vibes, and she is really forcing -Rika : normal voice doesn't match her age nor cute parts AT ALL. it sounds like a 15 Old girl to me, or even older than this. Can't really judge her other voice with only that tiny sample. -Ooishi : completely out of the whack. We have a "veteran", but it sounds much more like a old marine, than our usual lecherous detective ~~ -Tomitake : I think his voice is pretty decent, if not good. i pretty much like how he was teasing keiichi, while satying natural. really not a dub i would qualify decent...

I'm afraid I must agree with Klashikari and Piano Boy, listening to the clips was painful... very very painful... I believe my excitement for the dubs has shrunk greatly. But what can you do...? I'll wait to see and find out more though *nods*

Keiichi - I thought he was pretty decent, though I like Hoshi's version better.
Rena - It was ok, although the first clip wasn't really good. o-o Mion - Loved her voice, goes to the decent department for me too. Satoko - Eh..she sounds off to me. Rika - I thought she was the worst voice in the dub. She doesn't give off the cute vibe like in the Japanese version. Though that's my opinion. ^^;; Ooishi - I didn't like the gruff-ness in his voice, but still it's ok. Tomitake - Another decent voice. ^^ Yeah I suck at critiques. -falls over-

I agree about Tomitake. You know, his voice is the only one I have not heard even one complaint about?
I think I might be able to get used to the voice actors with time. What really bothers me, is how so many names are pronounced wrong, like Rena, Mion, Tomitake, and Satoko.;-; And were the TIPS in the Japanese version of the anime?O_o I thought they weren''t. |

as you can see in this example, they are :
 much more bonus, bon OTOH, each time, there are only 3 episodes (thus 1 dvd). this isn't something you can call cheap, unfortunately.

I don't like just watching clips of a dub to see how good it is... a lot of times new voices will sound terrible at first because you're not used to them (especially English voices), but by the end of the first episode or two, they sound a lot better. (doesn't hurt that the VAs have some time to get into their new roles)
