I agree with most of that... minus the 'nutbladder' part. <_<

Finally, a yuri anime that's actually going to go somewhere, and won't be just teasing/subtext.

I'm not familiar with this particular yuri manga, but it reminds me of some of the ones I am familiar with, and that's definitely a good thing for me.

in that aspect it's a lot like yuru yuri form as little as I have read, i always forget how far yuru yuri goes; except that this one might be faster, so let's name it gachi yuri.

If I'm not mistaken, the source material is a Kirara brand 4-koma like K-on and HidaSuke etc. Sure, things will most likely go beyond teasing/subtext in this anime, but keep in mind that the main point of most 4-koma is telling gags within the bases of every 4 panels. With rare exceptions like Kotoura-san I'd try to not expect any serious romance and melodrama plots from a 4-koma adaptation if that's what you meant by going somewhere.

Personally, I'm in this anime purely for the kicks if you know what I mean. But of course, it would also be nice to have some subtle melodrama and relationship tension although I'm not expecting much from that department being 4-koma adaptation and all that.

Seriously, I'm really, REALLY hope this succeeds to a point that Sakura Trick sets a trend for more explicit yuri titles being adapted and created that don't beat around the bush (I'm looking at you, Yuru Yuri ).

I doubt it. The only successful yuri title beside YuruYuri was MariMite which is the same "beat around the bush" in fact. But I need to check Utena sales(don't remember them).

Right. And that they're not just played purely for laughs (which is how YuruYuri came across to me, which is largely why I never became a big fan of that show).

I don't need the yuri equivalent of a Key-based anime (though that would certainly be great). I just want... Strawberry Panic. Even that degree of the yuri relationships being "for real" would be enough for me. Anything beyond that is icing on the cake.

If Sakura Trick sells well as an anime (and/or boosts sales for the source material substantially), I could see those good yuri mangas getting adaptations. I'm not going to get my hopes too far up, but it's possible.

Though Sakura Trick has far more romantic girl-on-girl kisses on a frequent basis (from what I heard at least one per chapter) which rarely gets utilized in past yuri anime (gimmicks don't count like Simoun). It's the idea of a moe anime where the cute girls are doing each other that could fill a niche that's been sorely missing. It'll be interesting to see how the Japanese otaku will react when this get first broadcasted.

The reactions will be quite something, I'm sure. There will be of all kinds, including, sadly, those who get dissapointed for not understanding the value of a series like this, which, as you mentioned, will fill a big hole in yuri anime, specifically, a laid back, feel good type of yuri relationship.

How ironic the genre is missing that, at least in anime format.

According to TV Tropes:

Yuru Yuri has straighter characters.
I never thought I'd see this line. Ever.

Designs still look great. Wait, did Yuu always have her uniform like that, with the blazer loose? If she did, I didn't notice.

Also, Shizuku looks so tiny in that image.

The official website also got revamped:

Hmm, I wonder if this is going to take Infinite Stratos' timeslot for the winter season.

TBSでは来週のこの時間、「IS2」放送終了後に、「桜Trick」新番組予告(30秒)が初公開となり ます。ついに動く春香や優たちが見られますので絶対にお見逃しなく! OP曲も流れます!
Next week we'll be getting a 30 seconds PV that will include the OP, right after IS2.

The things those poor japanese yuri fans must endure. When it's not a Laura/Char episode, I mean.
