Radiant

French manga 'Radiant' is apparently getting an anime adaptation from NHK.

Plot Summary:
Quote:
Seth is an aspiring sorcerer from the Pompo Hills area. Like all wizards, he is an "infected": one of the few living beings who survived the contact of the Nemesis, these creatures fallen from the sky that contaminate and decimate all those they touch. His apparent immunity made him choose a path which seemed to him to be all the more appropriate: to become a Hunter and to fight the Nemesis. But more than that, Seth wants to engage in a quest that goes beyond the simple hunt for monsters ... He wants to find the Radiant, their presumed cradle. Surrounded by a faction of sorcerers, he traveled the world in search of the Ra

Oh hey, It's Black Clover, err, I mean Naruto!

Standard Shounen

So being an infected doesn't give you Unique Magic, but the ability to manipulate/generate Mana
And the magic itself can be systemized and passed down through grimoires, thus learned like traditional magic
Nothing groundbreaking here

I agree with wuhugm. It's a slightly less shouty Black Clover so far.

That was pretty much the response I predicted, so no surprises from me. To each their own.

Man, the new season of Fairy Tail looks very different. jk

Going by the complaints you'd think this was a bad anime but it was actually pretty solid. Will definitely keep watching it.

There's a failed logic going on here

The only ones who can fight against Nemesis are sorcerers
The only way to become a sorcerer is to survive Nemesis touch
But the magic itself can be taught and not unique

So, all countries should have R&D department concerning this
Researching the maximum survivability needed to make a sorcerer
Even if it's completely random, they would've gathered volunteers that is willing to be touched by Nemesis

There's no way the creation of sorcerers is to be left on chance or fate

Well I also thought it was a pretty solid first episode.

Depends on how hard it is to find volunteers. Forcing people to become superpowered engines of destruction doesn't work out well. It also depends on how desperate for sorcerers they are.

But really, what logic can you expect from people who go out of their way to bully a dragon? A dragon they depend on to protect them from Nemeses.

I mean, if you want to explore a realistic way in which the existence of a few extremely powerful magic users would actually affect life that would be interesting but I doubt any anime has ever done it properly. They usually tend to downplay just how disruptive that would be.
