This is actually out now.

Ok, OK. they explain the whole "TRUe of vaMP" thing both in the credits and in the dialogue early on, but when you have several minutes of dialogue where the characters are perpetually talking about TRUMP (and the subs capitalise it), it just can't help but be unintentionally funny and just basically odd.

The kind of posterised semi-photographic 3D render background design sometimes manages to make Gankutsuou look restrained.
There is one scene of characters walking down a corridor where the 3D render seems to have had the same section copy/pasted one after the other, and I thought "Oh I DO hope they have to run along this at some point, Scooby-Doo style."

I was honestly expecting the orange man, but this seems to be way better. I will definitely be checking this one out!
