Subs are out on Funimation.
The platelets are back and in full force! So refreshing yet to see the Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, etc. We got to see Backward Cap, a character that wears their cap backwards. Heh, clever gimmick for this show. The 'bump' is a reminder that the human body is vulnerable to just about anything. Wonderful first episode.

Yeah, I love BC. She's seriously adorable. Going to be fun watching the two of these back to back from now on.
BTW, not sure it's save having a megakaryocyte wandering around outside the marrow. Pretty sure those things are supposed to stay put. Her wandering around outside might suggest a fracture causing some marrow to leak out, which in turn could mean a risk of a fat embolism. |

That was a cute episode. The Platelets are a treasure to be sure.
And nice to have a crisis where White Blood Cell couldn't do anything since it was just a bump . Left good work for those little heroes without any fear of attackers. Gold medals for everyone!

That poor virus didn't know what hit him...but he praised it, all the same .
The new Opening isn't quite as catchy as season 1's, but it's still very peppy and fun watching our cells at work and fighting off all the nasty viruses . It's nice to see Red Blood Cell still trying her best to be a proper Senpai, even if she's still Red Blood Cell at the end of the day . I was not expecting a Platelets focused episode to start off the new season, but it was a really wholesome and cute premier to watch, especially when I became as invested in Backwards Cap as White Blood Cell (I think their resemblance to Red Blood Cell helped a tad on that front) . "What the cell is going on!?" Is that a new thing the subs are trying out this season ? Megakaryocyte is like the Platelets' mom and teacher in one body. Even wearing the Platelet's normal uniform in a very fully-formed woman's body makes her look like a mom that just gave birth. I also know to listen to anything Yuko Kaida says to me . Megakaryocyte might have a harsh tongue and be tough on her Platelets, but she knows how to properly motivate and reward them . A shame we won't be getting a full one-cour...but hopefully this helps lead to a strong production across each episode .

The platelets were the most popular thing in this series, IIRC, so I wasn't surprised to see an episode centered on them.
But yeah, though there are lots of platelets, before it is really only the long haired one that's a character with real speaking parts. Now that there are two of them, we need to tell them apart so now its Leader-chan and Backward Cap-chan |

Episode 2
Wow, this episode looked like the apocalypse with all the zombified roaming around. Nice to also see the human body taking care of business as usual, especially Macrophage. It's crazy to see how malicious some bacteria acts in this show. Even taking hostages!

I can never get enough of Kikuko Inoue's Macrophage just casually coming in and serenely slicing stuff up .
I guess this is what Memory Cell gets when he mistakes his recall ability for the power to see the future and makes the Cells work harder than they actually have to...it's tough being neurotic . That being said, the scene of him and B-Cell coming in for the save was pretty awesome . Still some rivalry between Killer T-Cell and our White Blood Cell, with Killer T-Cell viewing White Blood Cell's doting on Red Blood Cell as a weakness instead of strength...of course, in all the chaos, White Blood Cell still ends up forgetting about Red Blood Cell . I guess this just goes to show you can't really negotiate with germs, even germs with grand visions for themselves, and the best bet is to play along until you get a chance to turn things around . Is that Show Hayami as that M-Cell bartender ?
