Gun toting Infinite Cosmos user. He fights both Cecilia and Charlotte at the same time. They have him on the ropes and probably would win. But a little goading after some short 1v1's show that Cecilia is not quite as adept as she wishes in mid-ranged gun fight. When Charlotte tries to finish the fight before something really bad happens. Cecilia is caught dead center in the guy's sights. Charlotte takes one for the team which badly scars Cecilia's psyche.

Expect less than moderate injury though, Raphael has good defense even at it's basic form. Still it'll work on Cecilia's part more than Charlotte's.

How light? I was thinking badly bandaged and bed-ridden for days. But not to the point of being unconscious almost comatose and living off machines.

More of alive but hurt. The fact that Charlotte can be so good natured to Cecilia while strapped to that bed after that major slip up also hurts Cecil a lot.

It was actually a barrage, the Infinite Cosmos was dual wielding IS grade Thompson SMG designed guns. So not only were the rounds big with huge stopping power(very little penetration), but also he pretty much empties 100-200 rounds into the Rafael.

From the corner of his eyes, he sees the Carnage’s cannon-fingers swiftly turning towards him. He turns around and prepares to deploy a barrier but a holographic prompt appears on his IS interface warning him of the Byakushiki’s very low shield power which is now dropping below a hundred and fifty shield points.

‘One-fifty…? Damn it, the barrier won’t—!’

He looks up and sees the cannons aiming straight at him as their muzzle glow yellow.

“Fall, Orimura.”

“Tch…!” He flinches.

“Not on my watch!” Inami shouts from the side.

“Eh…?”

Ichika turns to his side and sees him running towards the Carnage’s hand while holding onto the metal pole. He brings the pole up and thrusts the pole hard into the hand’s middle cannon-finger, lodging it in place deep inside the muzzle.

*Kzzt* *BzztZZT*

The sudden lodging on the metal pole causes a disruption to the Carnage’s impact finger-cannons as sparks discharge around the hand. While still keeping the pole lodged, Inami looks over his shoulder to the Byakushiki.

“Inami!”

“Ichika… Get back…!”

“NO—!” Ichika attempts to run ahead with his right arm reaching for Inami.

September 8, 2011, Tokyo Elementary 3, Central Tokyo Region.

Second semester has just begun; Orimura Ichika (11) already prepared himself for the day in spite of living practically by himself.

He had no parents; it was his sister who raised him. There’s also Shinonono family, but as of now, they have left under the protection of the government.

His sister is rarely home since she’s the only one sustaining both of them financially.

Ichika looked at his kendo training set, and ‘conveniently’ forget it. I reminded him too much of someone that had left.

Being a lazy man, he rather forgot the painful separation, following life as if he’s an old man who knew he will be separated from the world anyway.

It was just another day in the school.

Except for one thing, he got himself a new classmate, a foreign one even.

Her name is Huang Ling Yin.

And the only empty seat is aside of Ichika’s own.

She was somewhat unfriendly, seeing as she quickly “Hmph” him when he decided to throw an introductory smile.

And grudgingly accept when Ichika follow the usual tradition of sharing a textbook, still unable to accept it fully. In fact, she really reminded him of his friend who is leaving.

She even rejected his offer of having lunch together, and he knew better than to be stubborn, so he left.

She quickly gained several friends, all of them female, Ichika was the only one guy she actually paid attention too. She was really that shy and fragile, and hiding it behind her fangs (pun intended). Ichika decided just to start slowly, it’s not like the matter is urgent anyway.

September 21, 2011, Tokyo Elementary 3, Central Tokyo Region.

During lunch time, Lingyin, now simply called Rin, is bothered by the senpai from fifth and sixt grader, she possesses a defensively fierce expression to hide her fear, and it was effective.

Until the cowardly boys started to use their superior physique.

Ichika just coughed in response, eye to eye, the boy is losing his grip, one of them even fall on his knees.

“Don’t interfere, Orimura!”

He just smiled in response.

“Then I ask you, politely, to get away. By the way, the roadblock is really that fragile eh? Like-”

Ichika demonstrated by a single coke can, which he crushed effortlessly using one hand. Expression unchanged, at all.

They knew better than to deal with his wrath, ‘Shinonono Incident’ has become a local hit already, each and every kid knew.

And so they left like cowards they are.

“D-don’t misunderstand, I don’t need your help” She pointed angrily.

“Well, it’s really obvious. But they’re blocking the path” he shrugged, yes; she really doesn’t need his help… for now. The big, tough one has yet to come. His presence alone made sure that’s not going to happen.

“…. Just because I’m a Chinese”

“They’re sure a couple of idiots” he nodded “By the way, you’re skipping lunch?”

March 3, 2013, Sainan Private Junior High, Central Tokyo region.

It was the first day where school activity resumed again in Japan as a whole. Sainan Junior High is no exception.

The freshmen were all gathered in the auditorium, as per usual tradition; the Principal is giving a paragraph or two regarding the vision and the mission of the school, or something like that. Only small portion giving worthy attention, the rest is either having their own thoughts, chatting, or even making some trouble.

But something caught their attention, for a surprise.

It was the announcement regarding the next schedule for aspiring pilot screening. Due to being literally hundreds of times larger than female counterpart, they’re not held in a few days, but literally almost everyday on a whole year.

It was necessary, or rather desperation measure. Ever since Meister Sasuga and Takatoshi Tsuda found as first and second generation I.S. pilot who have XY chromosome, it was frenzy. The world barely misses what considered a ‘modern feudal feminism’ situation where men are barely treated as slaves in the worst places, and oppressed in the better ones.

By barely, women are regarded a bit higher than men. But considering the sheer influence those ‘damned machine’, it could be worse. Much worse.

Every potential male pilot is conscripted, though with far, far larger rewards following. Which almost everyone agrees that it was worth the effort.

Third, fourth, fifth, sixth all missing their share, the seventh being Kotegawa Yuu, the eight once again missing, and the ninth being Motemitsu Taizou

The entire male pilot found so far are indeed, Japanese. Plenty of countries are losing hope, however, it’s seems that wind of change has come.

It's kinda funny that Ling got the most spotlight in the prologue... and still considered an extra in his harem.

The Pearl (3rd Gen) only has two weapons, but can potentially put down an IS with a charged shot from its primary weapon.

The Räikkönen (2nd Gen) also has two weapons but the pilot's agility and reflexes makes her one of the most toughest Cadet anyone has ever faced.

To be honest.... 2nd Gen IS... is technically soup up version current military technology....

2nd Gen IS is suppose to be boring but practical..... (since they are still working with experimental stuff, they stick with weapons that already worked in real life... 3rd gen IS is when developer start working outside...)

Hence why I mentioned that 2nd Gen is where the down-to-earth aces belong to.
